I just discovered your blog and omg. you are such a gift. siriusly, you've saved me from a night of anxiety. one of my fave hp headcanons is that Narcissa and Regulus were very close and Draco's middle name is Regulus. if you don't mind including me the hp fancast fest, my selfie tag is "pretty-days" and even though I'm a girl you can cast me as any character gender doesn't matter

It’s nice to think of Narcissa and Regulus being friends when the Black family can be so cold at times.

okay, okay, so. I just got done rereading Highland fling for the 5th time or something I was just thinking. Several years from now the boys decide to adopt a kid. Probably an older toddler who comes from a hard background. And one of the first things they do with this new child they've promised to care for and raise is bring him to the Den. And they just sit under the Prayer Tree and chat and get to know each other. that thought just made me happy and I wanted to share it.

A Stranger and a Strange Meeting

It was the first time she had ever lied to her Mom, in sixteen years. 

There isn't much to do outside, at night, on your own but look at the stars - and if she was going to look at them, Violet wanted to know about them. So, using the excuse she wanted to paint the cellar ceiling accurately, she had asked for a book about astronomy, with constellations, and her Mom had brought one back from the library. At the time her palms had been sweating and she'd struggled to keep her voice steady - now, sat outside, she felt oddly powerful. She had lied, and her Mom hadn't known - she could lie. It was almost a revelation to Violet, although very likely the feeling of control would not last long.

Few sixteen year olds have complete control of their lives, but fewer still have as little as Violet. Locked in a basement for most of the day, never allowed to speak to anyone else, never having met anyone else, with every book and film she received monitored before hand - she was like a child, naive, innocent and ignorant of the real world.

Her house, and now her back garden, were all she knew - and this was only the second time she had been in the latter. There was a small window, level with the outside ground but high up from her bedroom, and one day, leaning her head against it to watch the puddles, Violet had discussed the wood was warped and rotting, the catch was loose, and she could push it open. It had taken another two days before she had summoned up the courage to sneak out. It should have been a wonderful experience...but she was as lonely, and as bored, as ever, with no company, nowhere to go and nothing to go. Honestly, the idea of leaving the garden filled her with panic which gripped her heart, but that didn't change the fact there was little to do within the fenced area - till the book idea had occured to her. 

Wearing old fashioned pyjamas, the top buttoning up like a man's shirt, the bottoms puddling over her feet due to her height, the blonde was sat cross legged on the bench, the book open on her lap and lit by a torch as she looked from the text to the skies. Her full lips murmured the words as she turned the pages and repeatedly squinted up at the heavens.

neither! they are both very neat.

forgets to run the dish washer

neither! they have house elves.

pumps gas for the car

def. lucius if they drove somewhere, but if they did have a car they might also have a driver. but narcissa would absolutely never ever be able to pump gas into a car.

drives when they’re going somewhere

lucius. narcissa definitely does not know how to drive; but again they might call a driver as well.

rearranges the furniture

narcissa, because when she first moved into the malfoy manor nothing was hers and i think it took her a long time to finally start decorating the place the way she wanted, but then when she finally got comfortable she started doing what she wanted.

falls asleep with the TV on

in an au where they had a tv, it would be narcissa, but it would only be because she stayed up watching it while waiting for lucius to come home.

gets to use the bathroom first

lucius in the mornings because he wakes up early, and because he actually has things that he needs to get ready for. if they were going to an event in the evening she would probably use the shower first, do her hair and get her make up done first, and then go to change while he used the bathroom, but if she was taking a really really long time he would probably just tell her to hurry up.

decides the temperature for the ac/heater

he does, and she definitely complains that it is way to cold in the Manor, and he probably tells her to do something about it but she doesn't know how, so she just wears all of his sweaters around the house.

sets up holiday decorations

narcissa with the help of dobby.

leaves the lights on

this is so sad. narcissa, because she waits for him to come home at night, and when he comes home he probably has to shut them all off as he makes his way through the house when he comes home.

uses the bathroom with the door open

neither.

fixes the plumbing (or calls the plumber)

they would get someone to fix it, but i think lucius would call.
