Oh you know exactly why Aniyah. Don't do this. Don't tempt him. You're better than that. Landon was in a relationship, but from that voicemail he'd left her it sounded like, things weren't going all that well. When she'd gotten up that next morning and listened to it, the first thing she did was hurry to dress and head to his place, wanting to make sure he was okay. Be that person he could talk to if he needed it still. First and foremost she was his friend. Ignoring all the bits where he'd said he thought about her. More than he should. That was her job. She was the one pining, not him right? Just drunken ramblings really. Yet she's standing pretty close, hand reaching out to hold onto his. Reassurance. That's what she would tell herself she was doing.

It only took a few seconds to realize what he meant. Was she ever going to tell him how she felt, that she'd been in love with him for months. NIyah lifted her head from where it had been laying on his chest, fingers still drawing lazy circles along his skin. They were still cuddled up on his couch, spent, but happy after what had just transpired between them. 'Well,' she started softly, resting her chin back down as she looked to him. 'It really wouldn't have been all that great of me to you know, just blurt out that I liked you while you were in a relationship.' Giving him a small smile. Even now she still thought it wasn't the best time. Considering he'd still be in a relationship only a few hours ago. 'There were many times I wanted to though. Trust in that. I'd rehearsed it in my head so many times how I would say it, and how I would try and explain myself.' She bit her lip at the confession, the reality that he hadn't said it back sitting in the back of her mind. She wasn't holding it against him at all. He was going through a lot right now. 'That definitely makes me sound like a psycho path so I'll understand if you want to kick me off your couch.'

Stupid. She was stupid for crying outside on her break. But fuck she couldn't handle it today. Seeing spirits sucked. Especially when they wouldn't leave her alone. Some got the hint, but not today. The voices, the constant knowledge that something was lurking just along her periphery. It was making work impossible today. It's why she doesn't clock it right away, thinking the shadow falling over her with her head on her knees is just the entity that had been on her all day. But hands, real hands are there on her face next and she's face to face with him. 'Landon?' She questions, voice cracking a bit as his thumbs swipe her cheeks. 'I-- I'm fine,' Instantly trying to dismiss her current state. She sure as hell can't tell him the reason anyway, but she makes no effort to pull away from him. How can she? She's thought of this more than once. But he's taken, in a relationship. They're just friends. 'Just a stressful day you know?'

C'mon Niyah get a grip.

This silly little crush she was nursing was getting out of control. Could count the number of times she'd had an interaction with the guy on one hand. She was shy, it was that simple, and people made her nervous to begin with just with the whole not knowing what dead relative would jump out and make themselves known and distract her. But even those few interactions with Landon Wynter had gone better than most. No spirits jumping out trying to get her to relay messages. Clear and calm. It didn't hurt that Aniyah thought he was probably the most handsome man she'd laid eyes on in god knows how long, but it did make the shyness a bit more prevalent. Her mind unable to form a coherent sentence half the time. Always just a how's your day going type a thing. Fashion was her thing. Not flirting, or making small talk about anything that wasn't material and what Beyoncé had worn to the Grammy's. But she wanted to at least try. That way when it failed miserably she couldn't say she didn't try to shoot her shot right? 'Hey Landon,' She finally got out just as he was going to pass her cubicle, hoping it would be enough to get him to stop and chat with her. @wynterlanding

Office work parties. Aniyah had never been a big fan of them but, she also was never one to turn down getting a bit dolled up. Fashion was her thing anyway, a chance to show off something of her own creation. This dress wasn't anything super fancy, just a simply little black dress but she looked absolutely stunning. Compliments left and right that made her smile, made her cheeks darken with a blush. There was only one person she wanted a compliment from, to speak to at all really at a gathering like this. And like it was on cue, when she turned her head to look across the room, there he was, looking right at her. Aniyah's smile is instant as their eyes meet, the raise of her hand to give a small wave in his direction. Not wanting his date to catch on that she was giving him any sort of attention her hand falls just as quickly, diverting her eyes back to the person she'd been speaking to.

nightmare prompts

Nightmares, night terrors were just a way of life for Niyah. It was nothing new to her. If anything, three so far this week was right on par. But what made it different? Was that she was sharing a bed with someone now. Not just any someone either. Landon. Something that was still a little surreal for her at times. They were caused by any number of spirits that haunted her. That didn't take no for an answer, and then were still there when she opened her eyes. Niyah still hadn't told him about this part of her life. Too wrapped up in the newness of the relationship to possibly put a damper on it. But perhaps the time was creeping up on her now. 'Yeah I'm sure. It's... normal.' She explained, rubbing the back of her neck as she tried to settle down from her sudden startle back to consciousness. 'Or rather, I'm used to it happening this often.'
