Die Ausstellung „Fotografinnen an der Front. Von Lee Miller bis Anja Niedringhaus“ zeigt in außerordentlicher Dichte die Arbeiten von Frauen in der Kriegsfotografie. Acht Fotografinnen sind mit 140 Fotografien vertreten, die Bildwerke decken einen Zeitrahmen von 1936 bis 2011 ab und vergegenwärtigen die kontinuierliche berufliche Präsenz von Fotografinnen in Kriegs- und Krisengebieten. Jetzt zu sehen im Kunstpalast Düsseldorf.

Tribute to a brave woman -  Anja Niedringhaus (12.10.1965 -  04.04.2014) The only woman on a team of 11 AP photographers that won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography for coverage of the Iraq War.

Thank you for showing us the world all it’s uglyness, all it’s beauty all it’s darkness, all it’s light all it’s despair, all it’s hope and paying for it with your life.

Yesterday the author of this picture got killed in Afghanistan. Her name was Anja Niedringhaus, a photographer of the Association Press. She was well known for her reportages about war scenarios and awarded in 2005 the Pulitzer Price and the Nieman Fellowship at Harvard.

Una pessima giornata.

Quando muore una persona che va alla guerra per conto della verità, imbracciando una macchina fotografica; quando muore una persona che è mossa dai tuoi stessi impulsi e da quel bisogno di "prendere la foto" in un estremo bisogno di raccontare la Storia che si crea attorno a noi.

Quando muore una persona che ha composto musiche di canzoni che hanno fatto parte della tua vita, sulle quali hai ballato, riflettuto e sofferto.

Ecco cos'è una pessima giornata.
