AnK Pet AU

For people who've never heard of Ai no Kusabi, you're in for a wild ride, especially since I'm putting my own twist on it.

I'll keep this very short. In AnK, the highly engineered Upper Class shows status by owning highly engineered human Pets. Uppers are taller, very handsome cyborgs, who are not supposed to indulge in anything carnal, and live vicariously through their Pets. The actual story revolves around an Upper falling in love with a rebellious human and abducting him to make him his Pet against societal norms.

In this AU, that may still happen in Hell, Uppers are Overlords. Vox and Valentino are Overlords and life partners.

As a dating present, Valentino, still the lust Overlord, decides to get Vox a Pet of his choosing. The Best of the Best, to show off at Overlord parties.

Vox is of course very willing to get a cute shark Pet! But he instead comes home with the fiesty deer one who insulted him and bit his hand.

Script:

VALENTINO, outraged Vox did not get the most expensive model on the market: You got the one on sale?? VOX: He kept biting the others. VALENTINO: ... Why are you all messed up? VOX: He kind of bit me too. ALASTOR: Is that your ex? VOX: Life partner. ALASTOR: Depends if I like him. VALENTINO: Excuse me, what???

Basically, it's an AU where Vox and Valentino have all the power, yet Alastor still manages to come up on top.

Armin would have horrible neck posture because he's always hunching over his desk doing paperwork or reading or writing up notes. 10/10 impression of a crab, his neck is always killing him, never remembers to sit straight or stretch, extremely horrible memory for any kind of practice or habit meant to actually do good or protect him. Annie's always dragging him to bed and giving him a neck massage which she (unfortunately) has to put too much strength into, not because she likes to hurt him, but because his neck muscles are just. That. Bad 🥲 but it's okay, they spend the time playing word puzzles when she's straddling his back and kneading his neck and shoulders to oblivion. In the end sometimes she also falls asleep like that, facedown on his back, and you know, it's just an Aruani sandwich. Bed, Armin, Annie.

I was digging around the game files and came across a ton of banters, many of which I've never heard in-game. I'm not sure if they're just hard to spawn (they seem to only pop up when entering/leaving atmosphere or jumping to lightspeed, and I usually spend most of my time on-planet knocking out quests) or if they were never recorded and implemented fully. Seriously, there's a lot -- about 13,000 words of dialogue.

I pulled all of the Trailblazer banters into a Google Doc here for anyone who's interested. I'm not sure if this post will show up in the tag with a link, but it's worth a try!

in skyrim I found it so annoying that when you literally just started some questlines, people across the country mentioned it to you, and equally, when you are level 50 mega boss, saved the world, ended the war, became head of every guild, are thane of every hold, own an insane amout of realestate and wear a boss babe outfit thay costs more than all of dawnstar, and some rando guard still calls you a milkdrinker
