You heard the things they said. What did you do to deserve this? No one went out of their way to talk to you, but you didn't think that'd be a problem, if you had known, you would've surely went to make friends. You didn't know what to say or whether or not to confront them. You left, to your place, the places you knew no one else would dare go, the place that was safe to you, not to others.
The woods welcomed you, when no one else could. It was your home, but you weren't a Demeter kid, surprisingly.
You sat on a blanket against a rock. She knew you'd be here though, so you were comfortable being alone at the moment. As the child of a sunshine-y god, you sure didn't feel sunshine-y.
Your stomach growled, you hadn't eaten since lunch and it was 3 pm. And like an angel, she appeared, your saviour. Annabeth walked over to sit next to you with a bag; her hair jumping up and down with the pep in her step.
As she situated herself next to you, you laid a head on her shoulder and you unwrapped the sandwich from the saran wrap. "Wanna talk 'bout it," she asked gently.
"Dunno, they don't know me. And then kept talking about me."
"Don't you worry your pretty head about it, I already... talked... to them."
You laughed, knowing exactly what she meant. "You didn't have to, Beth," you said gently.
"Wanted to. No one hurts my girl and gets away with it, hm?"
