ooc | Anna & Beatrice
ANNA!!! LOVES!!! BEATRICE SO MUCH!!!!!!
I feel like they haven’t spent a whole lot of time together, considering anna’s been mostly in the south and bea’s in the north, but I feel like they met when beatrice first came to the resistance and instantly!!!! connected!!!!!! and I feel like there has been some rare letters back and forth between them since, but even though they haven’t seen much of each other, anna still counts beatrice as one of her closest friends!!!
she absolutely hates that beatrice is in the situation she’s in now!!!! but anna is def one to focus on the big picture and she doesn’t think trying to get beatrice out is their biggest priority right now. to run a rescue mission would be extremely dangerous considering how well she is protected (plus they’d probably go in for lina, too, while they are at it and that’s probably even more difficult haha). that being said, i do think that they have considered trying to make the trade for the hartwrights for the priors, but not until they feel that they have gained everything there is to gain from howard -- and who knows how long that will take?
so yeah, anna doesn’t see herself reuniting with beatrice anytime soon in the future, but she also knows that beatrice is strong and that she can handle herself until help comes
Betrayals (flashback) | Anna & Nathaniel
“It was him,” Anna said, “I know it was him.”
Virginia met her accusations against Nathaniel with a calm composure; she hardly even glanced up from what she was reading to respond. She exhaled before responding with the speech that she’d had ready the moment she’d heard about Beatrice’s exposure. Anna had never trusted Nathaniel, and Virginia doubted she ever would.
She relayed to Anna that there was no proof linking Nathaniel to any of it (plus, he’d known since the start of Beatrice’s involvement -- why should he wait so very long to do it?) And, furthermore, who was to say it was not something Beatrice, herself, had done? Vardon had been looking for a reason to get rid of her for years ... did any of them truly think that, with enough time, he would not find her out?
She had stormed out then: furious at Virginia for being so blind! (Ironically unaware that while Virginia was perhaps too prejudice towards Nathaniel in his favor, she was very much the same ... only to his disadvantage).
Anna went to find him. She knew he’d be leaving soon to return to the city, but she wouldn’t let him leave. Not before she had a chance to confront him, herself. She stood by the gate, arms crossed tightly over her chest as though it would help to contain her fury. If she let her arms drop to her side, she was certain that the next moment they’d be round his neck.
“I know it was you,” She said. Her voice was low and strangely calm, but her her eyes were like fire.
Homecoming | Anna & Vera
Sometimes there was a small voice inside Anna’s head that made her question if they were doing the right thing.
She had no qualms regarding Vardon himself: she’d seen what he could do and she’d watched him do it. She’d often thought that the world would be a better place if he had never been born. He’d saved it from the monsters, only to show everyone that he had the ability to be even worse than the undead.
But they were fighting fire with fire -- and she knew that innocents would get caught in the crossfires. She hated the Northerners, but she knew well enough that not all of them were bad. Not all of them had chosen to blindly follow their warlord.
Just as quickly as those thoughts had surfaced, she silenced them. The end, she thought, would justify the means. These were dark and unhappy times: but they were fighting for a better tomorrow. And what could a few lost innocent lives matter, when compared with a thousand ones that could be saved?
The remnants of an early morning snow crunched under her step as she went to meet Jack and Vera, who had newly returned from one of their missions. The first time the odd couple had gone out together, Anna had been sure that they would kill each other (if the enemy did not), but somehow they’d managed to survive it (and each other). Now, she couldn’t imagine one going out without the other.
As soon as they were safely through the wall, Anna noticed that Jack had gone his own way (no doubt to find some food, drink, and a warm place to sit). “Any trouble on the road?” She asked by way of greeting as she fell into step next to Vera. “There’s food ready, inside,” She added. If Jack had been a little more patient, she would have been able to tell him that, too. As it was, she was content to let him fend for himself.
ooc | Anna & Seb
So ... I feel like Anna has always liked Seb as a person, but now she certainly does not!!! trust him!!!! She definitely sees him as a bomb that’s going to go off (it is just a matter of when, not if). And like, I don’t think she knows what he’s going to do, but she is sure it is going to be rash and impulsive and probably set things back (and may or may not even be successful in getting lina back) and yeah, I feel like she feels like, for his safety and the safety of everyone else, he shouldn’t really play an active role right now. She, for sure, would freak out if she knew that he was making trips to the capital!!!
Anyway, I feel like they’ve probably gotten on in the past, but I can see where they would butt heads now??? Like Anna is Virginia’s right hand and she’s for sure not making rescuing Lina and Beatrice a priority right now and yeah
ooc | Anna & Vera
So Anna and Vera are best friends!!!!!!!
I actually feel like it probably wasn’t always that way though??? I mean, I do think that Anna respected Vera for leaving her ~comfortable life in the north for this one in the south b/c of her beliefs but i also think that anna probably misjudged her and thought that she wouldn’t last and was in over her head ...
like anna tries but she also isn’t the most patient person, and I think that she wouldn’t be super patient with someone like vera as she’s getting adjusted. and like they are both outspoken people and I feel like they probably often butted heads and anna was just waiting for the day when vera would turn around and leave. but that day never came and slowly she started to realize that vera was wayyy tougher than she seemed and that she was here for the long hall and she slowly realized that she actually liked vera a lot and that their friendship developed slowly???
I feel like she probably still gets ~frustrated~ with vera at times and definitely rolls her eyes (but it’s more affectionately now haha) and I’m sure that they still have their arguments, but I feel like they have way more good times now than bad. also, I feel like they are pretty unstoppable when they team up haha like imagine trying to win a argument against them? you can’t :)
