I don't think we appreciate the amount of strong quotes The Ring has provided us with enough. Each of them is directly related to the movie's message and exposes Samara's malicious nature.
"You take one person's tragedy and force the world to experience it... spread it like sickness."
My absolute favorite one, said by Richard Morgan. He was referring to the reporters but it is also exactly what Samara is doing to her victims. She wasn't the one with a tragic story, her adoptive parents were, but she twisted the events in her favor to make it look like she suffered. The tape's content haunts the viewer for a whole week, constant hallucinations forcing them into the same position Anna and Richard were, and they can only put an end to this by making a copy and showing it to another person, thus spreading Samara's so-called tragedy over the world. Rachel had it even worse since she was investigating the Morgans' case and found out firsthand what the things on the tape symbolized.
To me, The Ring is a story about the inevitability of evil appearing in our life. We will notice it, and we will try to find explanations for it or simply ignore it, which will only lead to grief and regret. This is why it's important to pay attention to what's going on around you and immediately take measures once you notice things getting out of hand. Anna Morgan had to pay with her life because she loved Samara wholeheartedly and refused to admit to herself the child she desperately wanted turned out to be a monster. Rachel Keller nearly lost her son because she wasn't attentive enough when Aidan tried to communicate with her about what's troubling him. But, unlike Anna, she was able to separate them both from the curse by finally taking Aidan's words seriously. Samara cannot be stopped, you can only shield yourself from sickness she spreads– and this was exactly what Rachel did after she realized how blind she's been the whole time.
