The headache in Piper’s temples was building steadily as she slumped over in her seat. To her right, Leo was oblivious to her pain, chattering about who-knows-what, while Jason sat at Piper’s left, looking incredibly bored. On Jason’s other side sat Annabeth Chase, who was trying to finish up the nachos and muttering about the score to unenthusiastic Jason.

Piper sighed. She was supposed to be the one making the half-hearted, Uh-huh's, and I see’s to Annabeth, but instead, she was trapped next to boys who couldn’t take a hint.

29) Favourite line/passage you wrote this year?

I have written so much this year it's hard to pick... Nothing in particular stands out as Yes! That! this year. A lot of the Will&Apollo scenes, I think. Their dynamic is so satisfying to poke at and I've really loved playing around in that sandpit.

As an excerpt, I'll go with this small exchange from A Right To Emotions because it was one of those fics that was simultaneously easy and impossible to write, because it tackles some difficult situations but the characters' reactions flowed so easily for me and the whole thing felt right, and one of those particular moments is this exchange between Will and Apollo:

"I understood," Will whispered. "I still do." "That doesn't make what I did right," Apollo told him firmly. "You needed me and I let you down. You're important to me, Will, more than I could ever put into words, and you're allowed to be upset about it."

But, really, there are so many lines I could pick.

She’s freaking out, and Kon’s the one who got Mae dressed in clothes she likes when she didn’t want to take his jacket off and got her a snack she likes too and made sure it’d be hydrating and easy for her first time eating and got her all buckled-in and still has his TTK on her and–and–

And Kon loves her. Loved her immediately, before she even called him “Dada” or anything. Just–immediately, right from the start. 

And Cassie doesn’t. 

She doesn’t love a kid she made.
