little moments ✨
i love when i download a pdf of a non-fiction book and it's just scans of the original book and i can see how someone underlined certain phrases and paragraphs. i can see what someone once thought was important and i will read those parts of the book with extra attention and ask myself why they would be relevant to be highlighted and who read this book before me and what did they think. some people might think it's a bit irritating but i think it's beautiful to have a book that someone else has previously left their mark on and now you can read the same passages as them and go through the same literary journey as them and even though you don't ever get to know them, you get to know what was important to them and what their opinion on the topic might have been.
i love reading pre-annotated books because i feel a special kind of connection to the previous reader ❤️
Decided to completely annotate and illustrate my copy of phm, this is the first title page I did :)
giving kudos and commenting on fanfic isn't enough, i need to annotate your work and underline parts and scribble stupid handwritten notes on the side of the page. also there should be a "kiss on your forehead" button

I had to digitally annotate this portion of the book I recently finished, for the simple reason of how relatable the book talk is here.
