Evendim Memories - 3/??
Men Erain, Evendim - The Lord of the Rings Online
Men Erain, or "Way of Kings", is found along the south-eastern shores of Lake Evendim, leading into Annúminas. At each side of the worn road lies the tombs of ancient High Kings, and a few other ruined structures. At the mountain a few estates remain, memories of when the Kingdom of Arnor eclipsed, a history hallowed by the Dúnedain.
For many long years these tombs remained undisturbed, but after the fall of the North-kingdom to the Witch-king of Angmar, tomb-robbers and thieves came into the lands of Evendim. It is unknown if any of the treasures buried with the kings still remain, but the Rangers of the North have long maintained their vigil over the tombs.
My OFC Inzilmith
@tolkienocweek
Belated submission for the “Background” day of Tolkien OC Week.
Inzilmith is a working-class woman who unexpectedly gets entangled in the intrigues at the court of Armenelos and is lucky enough to survive and escape the Downfall on one of Elendil’s ships.
She has so far figured in the following stories:
The Crane and the Crow
Minul-Tarik
Her Tongue Unbridled
And here is a new drabble featuring her at the beginning of the War of the Last Alliance.
Summer Explosion
That was a strange summer. It seemed thunder was perpetually rolling in the distance, often below the threshold of audibility, but the storm never quite broke. Everyone else seemed to feel it, too, all Annuminas perpetually anxious or irritably on edge.
Then Isildur arrived on his father’s doorstep with a small troop, haunted and harried, a refugee again—as if another mountain had exploded. Inzilmith didn’t really need any explanation or exposition, did not need to hear the name.
The impossible had happened. Somehow, they had known it was not impossible, had been waiting for it. He was back.
Sauron.
The drabble incorporates prompts from the current tolkienshortfanworks challenge.
Annuminas at Gloaming
Annuminas by aegeri
It seems like a music clip.
My elf guardian, Sofew, has ended up with a near-complete set of level 115 Thorin’s armour banked (because the quest rewards Somany was getting in Strongholds of the North were account bound, and you mostly had two chances at drops for each slot).
Then Sofew looked with further interest at the spiffy quest goat Somany just gained, said quest being able to be done at level 115 (Sofew’s preferred colours are navy with gold and/or silver).
First time since before I aria’d her from 60-something to 105 that I am suddenly inspired to play her; at least enough to get the missing 10 levels, so she can dress for real (rather than just cosmetically) in the armour set, and get the goat for herself. She has tons of backfilling she can do, and I decided I might as well start by having her do the epic books. The exp gain is tiny at the point where she’d left off working on them, but by the time she works her way all the way to Mordor the gains will be much more substantial, and will hopefully be enough to get her through the levels she needs. And if not, there’s all the tons of backfilling of landscape questing and deeding she hasn’t touched yet.
Knocked out the Annuminas, Echad Candelleth (Part 1), and Forochel books over the last day and a bit. Working through the god-dammit-Laerdan plotline at Rivendell and into Eregion today (and, oops, largely forgetting to take screenshots along the way).
Now that they’ve finished bouncing the server I hope to get her through the Echad Candeleleth (Part 2) and Angmar-Yet-Again books, which will complete the pre-Moria volumes. And will get her the grey horse deed reward. Plus yet another portrait of Narmeleth for my houses.
lost requests: for @cavedwellerrrrr, something from the fourth age - eldarion watching annuminas :)
