She vaguely remembered drinking too much and enjoying herself for once. The wine granted her the confidence she lacked in every other aspect of her life and they finally found some time to celebrate. With Irenicus dead and his plans scattered to the winds, they could breathe for a moment or two before something else would come along. Alhana knew that most of them would part ways to find their own adventures and paths in life, but she needed to consider her own future and where to go from here.

The feast was over and she'd retired to her rooms, only to be surprised by Anomen a few minutes later. He'd looked so handsome with a slight flush to his cheeks and an easy laughter waiting on his lips.

"If you don't stop now…,” Alhana bit her lip to suppress another moan. 

Anomen had been surprisingly open with his attentions and affections, touching and kissing her, earning some rather snide comments from Imoen (promising a violent death, if he would ever break her sister’s heart). 

No holding back now though and his armor was gone and replaced with trousers and tunic and his skin felt hot beneath her touch. He knelt between her legs, fingers hooked beneath her silken undergarments. In this darkness, Anomen’s eyes seemed dark and only reflected the barest of lights. 

“I will not stop now, my lady.”

She groaned, because she had hoped that they were long past beyond such titles. “Anomen, please.” “Alhana.” Her name still sounded like a promise and she groaned as he made good on his promise and undid the last layer of fabric that kept them separated. With his ruffled hair, he looked a few years younger than he actually was and no longer than the honorable fighter that had kept her safe with his shield during their battles.

He looked ready to devour her whole and her body shivered beneath his. To be desired and loved and treasured. She’d always thought that not possible for her and only bathed in the embrace of the God that she followed. Now, her fingers grabbed Anomen’s tunic with no desire of ever letting him go again. 

“The others might hear something.”

“They’re asleep.” Spreading her legs apart, he pushed his body forwards and kissed her. Anomen’s beard scratched against her skin and she knew that she tasted of wine and so did he. 

His right hand roamed her body, cupping one of her breasts and letting his thumb brush her nipple. “You’re so beautiful, my love.”

Blood rushed through her body and her head started to ache. Alhana didn’t know whether she had to blame the wine or her own nature or how nervous he still made her. Her stomach was all butterflies and longing and the fear of waking up one day and finding him gone. Anomen swore to always be at her side, but the fear crept into her thoughts every now and then. 

“But I’m tainted. A spawn of Bhaal… I still have these urges. How could you…” Anomen silenced her with a kiss, clearly hoping to quieten her doubts with affection.  

“You’re so much more than your father.” Alhana’s heart hammered in her chest. His words carried weight, because he also became so much more than the tragedy of his family. Anomen rose from the ashes of a heritage tainted by abuse and too many drinks. 

And now he was hers and they’d be able to build a future together. 

Alhana moved her body and lifted her hips. An unspoken invitation for him to undo the bindings of his trousers and claim her fully.

Should I use Anomen or Viconia for my cleric?

I’m playing a Lawful Neutral sorcerer focused on (non-evil) necromancy. She’s a Maskarran (long story) and Kelemvorite, so she definitely sides with the Shadow Thieves.

She’s a sucker for lonely people (both of them are though)

For Anomen: she has a weakness for students and the Order (due to BG1 companions). She also likes Helmites bc she thinks it’s fun that they’re travelling with a Maskarran and don’t realize it

For Viconia: as a necromancer, she empathizes big time with people jumping to the wildest conclusions; as a half-elf, she empathizes with never feeling like she fits in; and as someone who was Real Fucking Lonely, she empathizes with turning to a Questionable god. But also Shar is in her top 5 least favorite gods

Mechanically, I have 2 sorcerers (me and Adrian [mod NPC]), Kivan, Haer’dalis, and Yoshimo. Very squishy party in desperate need of any sort of tank and also a healer.

I’m really interested in both of their character arcs, and I have a mod that removes gender requirements for romances.

Usually i'm all for leading the Paladin away from the lawful good path just for my own entertainment, but Anomen's dad triggers my parental issues so hard, that i'm gonna make sure that Anomen ends up the bestest, goodliest most upstanding little boy in the realm by the end of this game and his dad is gonna hate every minute of it.
