It doesn’t really bother Player. He spends most of his time inside so the change of weather doesn’t effect him.
Although he does enjoy the sound of rain tapping on his window.
Being stuck in a house is tough for Carmen though. She doesn’t like being in one place for too long. Also the rain reminds her of the day she escaped VILE.
She drags Player out of his room so they can watch movies or maybe even bake some cookies together.
The day starts off pretty calm but things start to escalate, especially when they are playing a competitive game together.
I can see them playing One Two Switch and hitting each other accidentally which starts a play fight.
They definitely chase each other around the house while throwing pillows at each other, making screeching sounds.
Player falls asleep first and Carmen graffitis his face then tucks him off to bed while she continues watching The Princess Bride.
In a hypothetical situation do you really think people would believe/support Harry if he was to CO? I feel like non fans would just call it damage control and saving face after the queerbaiting accusations. I think fans will just ignore it and go about fantasizing about sleeping with him. The queer community has become so gatekeepy now and you need a stamp of approval to be accepted. They seem to let people in based on if they like them or not. I don't know. I feel like no one would accept him but I hope I'm wrong. That's if he even wants to CO. I used to think he did but these days I'm less sure.
Anon 2: I know you've talked quite a bit about the queerbaiting discourse so sorry if these questions are annoying. In what way do you think Harry could CO and have people believe/support him? Do you think people have the right to be skeptical because he's only been seen with women or do you think it's homophobia? If he continues to have more pr relationships or do more pr stunts like the one with Emily then do you think it will make it more difficult for him to CO in the future? At the moment opinions about his sexuality are mixed. There's been a lot of discourse about it. If he continues only being seen with women then I would have thought that it would make people more and more skeptical and jeopardize a future CO. But I suppose it wouldn't if he planned on doing it in decades as the women would be forgotten by then. It would make it more harder for him if he wanted to do it when he was somewhat young.

I don't find these questions annoying anon 2 - I think they're really interesting. But I do think it's important to be quite precise - because there's a lot going on.
One really important point I want to make - is that of course fans would continue to fantasise sleeping with him if he came out. There's nothing wrong with that.
And I don't think questions about how people would respond if Harry came out - as if there's only one way of coming out - is a particularly useful framework. If Harry has a boyfriend and engages with him in public the way that he did with Olivia (or the way Niall does with Amelia, or hell even the way Louis did with Eleanor), then only a very few people would be like 'Harry's doing it for the attention' and they wouldn't matter.
Probably if he made very vague illusions to being attracted to men and said little else and continued to publicly date women, there would probably be people who gave him shit on twitter - but I'm not sure that it would matter. After all it's not exactly new for Harry for a core group of people to disbelieve the narrative he's telling about his sexuality and desire.
I don't think that there's a time limit on it either - I think him being publicly with a man would be believed if he did it - no matter what he does between now and then. There's no story he tells now that will jeopardise him coming out in the future, if he does so in a way that is specific (I don't think that has to mean publicly with a man, but it will mean revealing something). But I do think the stories he has told will influence how much people would care if he made a vague comment about being attracted to men.

I’ve never done a matchup thing before bc I was too shy to send in info but I’m gonna put my big girl pants on and just do it to conquer my own insecurities *gives the middle finger to my brain*

I’m really shy and I have trouble making connections with people at first because of previous bad experiences but once I do I will be so attached and as loyal as a dog! I don’t like when people say “I’m mean to you because I like you!” cause I need kindness or I will just shut down :(( So I tend to seek out people that understand that and won’t tease/bully me as a way to show their affection. In my free time I like going to thrift stores, and I have a big big big collection of DVDs and VHS tapes because it’s like having my own Blockbuster in my basement! And I love staying up late and talking about life and random stuff and telling funny stories; I don’t talk highly of myself often but I will say I think I’m funny as hell and I wish people would get to know me more so I they could find that out about me :3

Dear anon, I am pairing you up with our boy ✨ Klitzy!! ✨ Hear me out! I always picture Klitzy working best with a s/o who is either wickedly confident or a bit shy, just like him.
I think he'd feel comforted by your quiet and kind nature. He's kind of an insecure guy and I imagine him having a hard time feeling connected with people because he simply doesn't view himself as worthy enough. But I'd see you being able to make him feel like he can just be himself, especially with your sense of humor.
He would adore your massive movie collection. He would be coming up with excuses to come over and have a movie night with you all. of. the. time. He'd do the thing where he'd fake yawn and nonchalantly curl his arms around your shoulder. Cuddle into his side a little while there, will you? It would drive him absolutely nuts.
And could you imagine...doing sketches of him? Like I said earlier, he's insecure about his looks. The first time you try drawing him might make him a little self conscious. But after a while, I think he'd be so endeared that someone could possibly want to draw candid little sketches of him.

I mean re: “light tributes”, you always access the elders by lighting candles, and then once you are in the cutscene you always give them light (which is maybe a sort of. A mental representation of them accepting the light from the candles?). Plus, when you get cosmetics, I interpret it as paying tribute to these spirits with your candles, for which they give you a gift (rather than “buying”. It would be kind of weird if all the spirits you saved were like hey kid *opens jacket* wanna see my wares? And they were all just these weird ghost merchants who had no purpose in their afterlife other than selling you stuff cjdnjdndjdmd). On the thatgamecompany website (and in the game I believe) their cosmetic trees are referred to as “friendship trees”, and unlocking more of these nodes is “developing your friendship” (just like with other player characters). So in sky you forge and grow relationships by offering light tributes, for which you sometimes get gifts. Imo it is kind of weird how this sort of. Turns relationships into a transaction. But the light can always signify something other than currency (experiences, memories, conversations, quality time) where the more you share that light with others, the closer you grow to them, the more they share their light (or memories, or trinkets) with you.

Yeah, I think it definitely makes sense in universe, and I really like that there is an actual name for them rather than just being a currency for players to use. On the topic of the light of the candles being the same as the light we give to the elders, when I was in Vault I noticed that the little lanterns that you light to charge the platform have the rotating white circle like the meditation spots, until all of them have been lit. This is the same as when the candle light transfers to the floor and becomes the meditation spot that allows us to enter the elders area that is separate from everything else. So I guess the rotating white line signifies transference, both in the sense of literally moving you (to home of the ark etc) or moving the light (from the lanterns to the diamond,or the candle to the other place)
And yeah I get what you mean about the spirits. In a world so connected to light, it probably represents a lot of things, and possibly further for skykids as they are essentially living light, and store the light they collect in their cores to, you know, keep them alive (ie forest rain killing you unless you keep picking up light/recharging) so voluntarily giving that up must be a big deal.
Or who knows, it could be the complete opposite! Light/flame was so common and used for everything that it might not be that valuable. Sure theres candles in important places like the temples and graves and the bell towers, but theres also candles just in the open fields or some unused pipes. It might be more like its valuable to the skykids (being their life energy or whatever) and therefore, it becomes valuable to the spirits when given as a gift in the same way that a kid giving someone some pretty rocks they found that they thing you will like.
I've been trying to work out how the spirits give you items with them being dead, and skykids being unable to take their capes/clothes off as it's part of their body. Getting into speculation here, but I wonder if it's more trading information? So rather than they give you a blue cape, the skykid learns how to make their cape look blue? Or how to reform their skin clothes to resemble the ones a rhythm spirit is wearing? Idk how this would translate for masks or items as they are actual objects that skykids can take on an off, and also wouldn't have the means of making them from scratch.
I do wonder if giving candles as a sign of friendship (side note: they were still 'tributes' before but we don't see any signs of them being given as gifts) started with the skykids as: light is definitely important to them, they have seen candles everywhere and therefore believe they must be important items, and their flame (life, soul, whatever it's supposed to be) takes the form of a candle. So for a skykid, giving a candles is the same as giving a part of yourself.
Sorry for the rambling, it probably didnt need this much of a response, just love the little details of the world they have created, and the possibilities of two completely different civilisations using the same space. Skykids are very interesting (to me at least) when I start to over think their behaviour and structure, and how they would adapt to a brand new world that they dont fully understand.
I don’t really understand why Rey needs to shoved into materials related to the Skywalkers when isn’t one? There’s going to be a book about the Skywalkers and Rey is in it? Why? If she is in it then where is Obi Wan Kenobi? He should also be in it more than Rey. He was more prominent in the lives of the Skywalkers. This is why a lot of people think she’s going to take up the Skywalker name. But why tf would she?
Anon 2: I beginning to think that LF realizes that Rey isn’t really interesting on her own so she has to be associated to a lineage that she has no blood relation to. When you look at speculations or comments about ST, most of them are about Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and when Rey is put into discussion, it’s always in relation to Ben and the other elder Skywalkers.

Anon 1 has a valid point, if Rey is not a Skywalker, and is not being promoted as a future Skywalker as of yet and is still included in a book which is about them by using the thin excuse of “That saber called to her”..then you might as well include Obi Wan or Padme or Han at least into the narrative. Maybe they have included them and in that case that is a good sign of consistent writing theme and a good news for Reylo fandom since she is there to be clearly signaled as future spouse( because she is not a mentor to Kylo LOL) . I am also not forgetting the fact that the canon movies says that the Tree and the entire Island has been calling to Rey way before that stupid saber has been doing so , yet the contract writers, DLF marketing etc or even our fandom doesn’t insist she is the rightful owner of the that damn Tree or the Island or it’s Lanais habitants by “divine will” . ..**watch me fight anyone who says that she owns the Island and its people just to put a foot down on the logic because F*** monarchy justification narrative**
I am not going to justify the reys//ky yahoos because the movies have killed it and nothing DLF does outside the movies would have any justification for resurrecting that line of thinking. Rey knows are parents were alcoholic dead junkie whose name she can’t even bother to remember and that is that. DLF can keep on promoting “Leia loves Rey, Han loves Rey, Anakin’s Force Ghost loves Rey” all they want but it would never make her Skywalker or a Solo because it didn’t make R2D2 or Chewie one either. ( C3PO is already a skywalker so..)
I actually disagree with the premise that Rey is not interesting on her own right because she is. That is why promoting her using Skywalkers without any consistent theme irks me so much because at the end it just insults Rey ( and in that letter, Leia too because Luke and Han weren’t turned into the father Rey needed just for Rey’s benefit and were allowed to be character in their own right who might not even like Rey but Leia isn’t. I…just..) . The fact Rey’s survival guide is a gripping book which sells is a testament to that. Why not promote her as a scavenger and survivor of Jakku, a planet which has so much rich history and has so many interesting implications just by existing for New Republic. Why do people like Rey, an orphan who could be sold right under NR’s nose, exist and no one gives a shit about them?? What does Rey thinks about them?/ how does she copes and justifies these heroes she adores when she knows those people are out there alive and have power and do nothing about it??
I find all these interior questions interesting. I want to know just how much Rey remembers about her dismal abusive home with her alcoholic parents . Of course she can’t consciously remember anything but i have seen how cleverly DLF can employ psychological deflection, projection and suppression to tell a story . They managed to open Kylo to the audience through this( even though they are not doing it for Rey and i am disliking the excuse of “Rey is closed off” more and more ) Remember Rey’s scene in TFA novelization opens with her gently combing her fingers through a cleaning brush when she looks at a mother and son in Niima outpost?? that is such a loaded scene which tells a lot of about her desire about her past and about her future( her innate longing for motherhood even she doesn’t understand at that point) . That scene was in TFA movie too i believe but either it was deleted or not shot , i can’t remember but imagine more moments and a whole narrative like that!!
I want that and i am miffed that DLF doesn’t see the potential here.
