Could you write one of the boys giving Warriors a hug? He’s seems like he’s been going through a lot recently and could use one :(
I'd love to! I hope you enjoy! :)
The flicker of the lantern light gave a gentle wisp of light across the room as he found himself lying awake. Facing the ceiling.
The sound of his breathing was the only thing keeping him here.
Need to keep them alive, need to keep them alive, need to keep them alive.
His mind raced as the light flickered, the stress of the last few days weighing on him. Responsibilities, keeping the team together as best he could with Time looking after Twilight as he was.
The door creaked open, his hand falling to the blade by his side. He remained unmoving. The threat entered the room with light footsteps.
"Hey Wars?" A small voice. "Wars... are you awake?"
The sailor's voice sounded off, but he couldn't pinpoint what was up with him. He slowly sat up, facing away from the hero for just a moment to take a breath.
Remember to keep your mind steady.
"I am." He turned to the sailor, forcing a gentle smile. "How can I help Tempest?"
"I... uhh..." Wind started before his voice died in his throat. The small sailor wrung his hands together in front of his body. As he looked to the floor. His blond hair was illuminated gently by the lantern light.
Hesitation gets people killed.
"Did you have a nightmare?" He tried gently, leaving his expression as open as he could.
The sailor nodded. Okay. Come on Link.
"Alright." He took a deep breath. He wasn't going to sleep anyway. "Did you want to talk about it?"
The sailor's eyes seemed to scan him, up and down. As if trying to search for something. Before he stepped forward slightly. "It... It..." Wind took a breath before taking several strides across the room and stopping in front of him. "Are you okay?"
"Of course I'm okay..." I have to be. Was left unsaid.
"Dont... Lie." The sailor took a breath again, placing a hand on the captain's shoulder. At this angle, They could look eye to eye without much effort from either party. His face was shrouded in concern as he looked over the captain again. Moving in closer. "please. Just give me the truth."
" I'll be okay then. I just need some sleep." Something inside him hated lying to the sailor like this but there was nothing to be done. They were moving out tomorrow, they had to be ready.
Winds eyebrows furrowed as he looked on. "Your eyes look so tired, and you've been acting off since we got here."
He tried to rebuttal but the grip on his left shoulder tightened. "You've taken up the role of leader with Time taking care of twilight."
The sailor wasn't done. "You've tried to keep us together. But. Are you keeping yourself together?"
Was he keeping himself together?
The silence from the sailor demanded an answer. his eyes falling downward as he could feel the tiredness threatening to seep out.
And that was all the sailor needed to hear. The hero of the winds shuffled beside the captain on the bed and wrapped two small arms around him, Clasping his hands together as he snuggled into the captain's side.
"Wind... you should really get some sleep. Dont worry about me." He patted the sailor's arm gently. prompting him to look up to his face.
Wind. the youngest of their number.
"I am worried about you. You are holding the weight of this on you and you don't need to."
"Wind..." He tried to rebuttal, but the sailor gripped his arms around him tighter.
"This is for all of us, Twilight is going to be okay. We are all in this together"
And that... Was the truth wasn't it.
The moment the first tear fell from his cheek was the moment the steadily constructed walls crumbled. As a sob escaped him Wind shifted, pulling himself up onto the bed so he could hug the captain more fully.
"You take care of us. But we are here for you too."
He sobbed, the explosion of emotion flowing from him all at once. It poured like a waterfall as he curled in on himself. His body shook as the sailor just held him.
They were there for a while. The sailor didn't say anything he simply held, as the captain sobbed. The stress, the fear the anger everything escaping him all at once.
What a change in roles...
If Time found them in the morning, Wind curled around the captain as to protect them from anyone. He wouldn't mention it.
'Maybe we can wait another day...'
