I'd like to say thanks on actually teaching us how to fix the referencing instead of pointing fingers out! That was a useful post, and yes that was readable ;u; thank you again!

I'm glad I was able to help in some way. 

The reason I say the things I do is that I feel that there are wrong ways to draw inspiration from others.

When I was younger, and basically just barely old enough to be on most websites, I saw a piece by an artist I really liked at the time. I thought one of the elements from their art was particularly awesome, and so I took the design for myself. 

The artist posted about it, upset, and since I was following them, I saw the post too. Initially, I thought about editing my description to give them credit, but eventually, I just felt bad that this was bothering them so much and ended up removing the picture. I'd never traced their picture, but the thing is, I stole hard work from them, and once I really thought about it, I felt pretty shitty about myself.

But you know what? That was a really helpful experience. I made a mistake, owned up to it, and decided that if I practiced, I would eventually come up with something just as cool. I don't think I'm there yet, but I'm still trying pretty damn hard. 

All people, not just artists, should try their best to own up to their mistakes. It can lift a huge weight off your shoulders, and help you become better as a person. It's okay. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how you deal with what you've done, and what you've learned. 

What I learned that, no matter how much you love an artist, they do not find theft flattering. If you're so inspired by an artist that you have to create something for them, tell them, or hell, do the most original thing you can possibly think of. They'll appreciate it a hell of a lot more, and others around you will too.
