"You can hide your sins, but they won't ever really disappear."
Xehr is one of the Milletians that inhabit Erinn. His preferred body is that of which is shown above; about six feet tall, 180 pounds, semi-muscular and fairly fit. His facial features generally stay the same; spiky dirty-blond hair, red eyes, and fairly toned skin. His left eye is discolored and is of purple hue, but he always keeps a specially blessed eyepatch over it to hide it. Xehr is most often seen wearing his Magus Crest outfit on his body, black Cressida gloves on his hands, and Len's shoes over his legs. His signature style, as one might call it. On his back is a pair of black angel's wings, a "gift" he received from the Gods themselves for his greed. Unshown by his clothing, Xehr also sports a large scar on the right side of his chest he received after falling out of Falias, the same event that granted him his wings.
After his adventures in the mercenary group "Heroes4Hire", where Xehr learned about the world he now resides in and how to fight and navigate it, he decided to begin a group of his own. In this place, they are called Guilds. The title he dubbed upon his guild was "Ignoble", meaning un-noble, to be of common or peasant status. The name bears significance because he comes from a background of such lowliness. However, he is a very well-known and respectable soul in Erinn, and has gained the trust of many who remain there.
Even with popularity, Xehr still suffers from a depression that has stuck with him for a long time. He often is out alone looking on at the endless sea of chaos that is his current home, thinking about his past, or even the present, and just how lonesome he feels. Even with his friends and guild, Xehr often feels like he is alone in the world because he finds it difficult to share his thoughts with others without a barrier. In his mind, he needs that one special someone who can fill that void in his heart and be there to share everything with him so he can do the same. Xehr would rather live for another person who he can call his own, than dwell in his lonely thoughts. His depression has nearly driven him to suicide several times, but he is always reminded that there must be a job that he was set to do in Erinn, and he can't let down his friends or his guild, because that's the kind of cliche hero he is.
Xehr's preferred fighting style is a mix of magic and fists. His main weapon is a set of knuckles coated in shyllien and blessed by Merlin himself. The coating allows mana to flow through the knuckles as if they were an extension of Xehr's arm. Being blessed by the Druid himself allows uninhibitted casting of magic. Ordinary shyllien-coated knuckles would require the user to use many basic spells of the same element in order to cast higher leveled magic. These knuckles are perfect for Xehr in that he can use virtually any magic spell he can cast while wearing the knuckles, being able to hit heavy from near and far and with a fairly unpredictable combination of abilities. However, Xehr does not stick by the book with his spells, and more often uses them in tandem with his brawling. He likes to consider himself an "innovator". His signature ability with these knuckles is Blaze-Pummel, a cross between the two commonly known skills, where Xehr fuses the explosive power of Blaze into each punch he uses during Pummel. Other notable abilities Xehr can use with these knuckles include an all-inclusive (save the top tier spells like Meteor and Hailstorm) magic fusion, which allows Xehr to mix another element with an intermediate-level spell, such as Fireball or Ice Spear. He can also gather a singular element into a focused ball of pure mana and hurl it at his foes. As far as his Fighter skills are concerned though, he sticks to the same routine as he has for years, but remains very skilled at it.
Other areas of combat that Xehr excels in aside from magic and brawling are his skill with a handheld melee weapon, preferably a sword, and gunslinging. Long has the time passed when Xehr actively used Cylinders for Alchemy, and as such most of his memories of it are fuzzy at best. Xehr has terrible dexterity though, so while others may be accustomed to using a bow and arrow for ranged ability, he prefers the guns he keeps on him. Old-style Dowra Revolvers that he's given slight modifications to over the years. He's more a shooter than an engineer though, so the only thing he's really done to his guns was give them slightly bigger ammunition capacities.
Even with all of these skills, Xehr finds himself to be really only a fighter, and when it comes to crafting or as mentioned, wielding a bow and arrow, he fails to make even an average mark. Though long ago he dabbled in woodworking, the skills never really stuck due to lack of use over the years. He has to rely on others if he needs something made.
A brief summary of Xehr's past through his own perspective can be found here. His first truly unique experience occurred while confronting the Python Knight within shadow Tara (Full Story). Directly following that event, he was brought to Dorren, who told Xehr that the darkness was trying to use his eye to escape and take control of him. In order to suppress it, he was given a specially enchanted Eyepatch that holds back the darkness from escaping that eye. Further down the line, Xehr had conquered Nuadha himself, and attempted to rise in his place as a God (Full Story). However the end result was Xehr being refused by Morrighan and sent plummeting down to Erinn, wings of ebony attached to his back. He was found and taken in by a kind young woman who found him lying in the crater he created in Sen Mag Plateau, and nursed back to health. Xehr decided to make it a point to exact revenge upon the Goddess who he had once trusted and put faith in. He turned to chaos and became one with the Dark Knight's armor, giving up his Paladin's garb in the process.
Outlined in his memories in five parts (I, II, III, IV, V), Xehr fought and conquered the darkness inside him. At first however, he was quite concerned with that which was being kept within his soul. In an attempt to escape it, Xehr rebirthed into a female body, making it as different as possible compared to his male appearance. The darkness still kept with him, much to his surprise and agony, and again he went to see Dorren. The darkness in his female body was not showing anywhere specific, though it constantly spoke and screamed in his mind as time went on while in that body. Dorren granted a pair of crystal hair ornaments fashioned after Pegasus wings, which would stave off the darkness and its terrible persuasive thoughts.
Shortly after getting used to these changes, Xehr ran across his male body, fully animate, as though it were inhabited by someone else. This was impossible, and this individual quickly showed hostility. Showcasing its powers of darkness in an attempt to take Xehr's life, it proved to Xehr that the darkness had split itself amongst his old body and his soul. Confused, he went to Nao and immediately made the arrangements to rebirth back into his old body, which was quite as he left it. Similar to his first encounter, Xehr had a run-in with this shadowy being once more, but this time there was a female with him, who looked identical to the body he had used while being the opposite sex. Another narrow escape with his life, Xehr again went back to Nao, this time for advice. She suggested splitting his soul into two halves to inhabit both bodies, at least until the Shadow Halves, as they were named, were dealt with. This way no more Shadow Halves would be created. Xehr agreed and thought this was his best and possibly only option. Here is a rundown of the process he took to get to that point.
As they adventured together, the female body that Xehr was inhabiting began to inherit its own traits that developed over time. Mathematically, Xehr had split his soul, which was comprised of 75% himself, and 25% darkness, and literally halved it between two bodies. Therefore, each body had only about 20% of room to fill rather than 50%, because the darkness was making itself quite cozy and using the extra space. this proved risky because anything that might amplify it further could break the seals the two wore. Anyway, given that their souls were more or less incomplete, they had to acquire more of a personality and such to become whole. The female body in particular acquired more feminine traits and some skills that the original Xehr didn't possess, just to make up for the extra room. She became proficient in music and had a wonderful singing voice, and had quirks of a more cute and peppy nature. Xehr's male soul didn't change much if at all, but more or less built more of what it had already.
The two became quite close and as a result, fell in love. Interesting to note here that the only one Xehr could trust was himself, ironically enough. She was never given a name by him, and he never felt the need to give her one since they were often alone and they both knew who they were talking to. After a length of time totaling about a year in Erinn time, Xehr was blindsided by the female Shadow Half, who informed him that his female half had been abducted and taken to Baol. His eyepatch taken, a temporary seal placed on his eye, and a wound inflicted on the same location as his old scar were all he was really left with before trudging through the depths of Baol, where he found the Shadow Halves and confronted them in an epic battle that would end in Xehr having to fight his female half after both of them being consumed by their darkness. The battle resulted in Xehr being knocked unconscious and nearly dead, and his female self mourning over her dying lover. A soul from Falias came to her and promised to save him in exchange for her existence. She was finally given her name, Fihrea, and used the light of the Falias' Soul to purify Xehr, nurse him back to full health, and rid him of his darkness forever. The drawback? He doesn't remember the girl who he fell in love with, and only feels the hollow void of the spot in his heart that she held.
Years pass by, Xehr continues to live on in Erinn through all of its changes. Technology rapidly advances and brings Erinn to a utopian era filled with cool conveniences and nifty necessities. After hitting its peak, the land began to decay and lose its resources. It had seemed as though the people had taken from the land more than what they could give back to it, and it was punishing them. The population turned to the Royal Family for guidance and to point fingers for destroying their livelihood. The Royalty only pointed fingers back, blaming Guilds that still existed for hoarding all of the resources, which of course was a lie. Xehr knew that, he was the leader of one of the biggest Guild Factions in Erinn, and even his followers had trouble keeping their stomachs satisfied. Though he had to admit, he did make sure his people were healthy and well kept before the rest of the population though. He was a saint to his guild, and a kind ruler of sorts. Those days, Ignoble would carry out vigilante actions to bring justice to the decaying culture of Erinn.
It was not at all unlikely that they would encounter the Royal Family's headhuntress, Ferricia, while out in the field. The woman was savage in her ways but definitely an admirable noble for the type of world they were stuck in. Ferricia's duty was to remove from society each and every guild faction to restore peace and order to the people. Xehr himself has quite the agenda on this woman however, as in his mind, she is suspect number one in the recent string of murders happening all across Erinn. he's hellbent on finding out what's going on.
