A beautiful song called Ductia. The composer is anonymous, as is the case for so much medieval music. It was, however, composed during the 13th century (1200′s).
More from the era of Mittelhochdeutsch: Der kuninc Nabugodonosor. As I am getting better at deciphering medieval German, I translate this as “the King Nebuchadnezzar” (an ancient Babylonian King). It’s fascinating to see the consonantal changes between Mittelhochdeutsch and Neuhochdeutsch.
