  Reliving the best days of my life 

I’ve been taking a look back on life, and reliving my old life on alterD8.com.

A week ago I was cleaning out the garage. I came across an old high school yearbook.

I was about to throw it in the box with the old toys for a garage sale, when I started to flip through it.

I was in a lot of the pictures. With the basketball team when we won the championship. The soccer team when we won regionals.

I was a handsome son of a gun back then, not that I’m too bad now.

I used to go to parties every weekend.  

I had a lot of girlfriends too, sometimes together at the same time. Nothing terrible, I was just having a good time.

I’m pretty happy with my life now, despite the settling down, the rules of my better half, work, the house…it’s just that sometimes I want to really relive those times, you know?

  Reconnecting with my old self again

When I started cyber dating, I found someone that I really connected with. Me.

  Is summer love just an idea?

This summer, I’ve been reading a lot of books.

And so many of these books focus on summer love.

Is it the bikinis? Glistening men emerging from the water, sun shining off their skin? What is it about summer that makes me have the strong urge to fall in love?

Last night, I had to put down my book and find out. I opened my laptop and began researching. 

    The science of summer love

Is it real? I read up on a number of articles. Live Science identified some factors that may influence summer love. These include:

A break from routine.

I know that feeling relaxed and enjoying the sun makes me feel more sociable. I love to walk through the parks and enjoy the beautiful flowers. At night, after I’ve cleared away the dishes I like to sit on my deck with a glass of wine… It all reminds me of when I was a young girl (except for the wine of course).

Cultural expectations.

As New Year’s Eve comes with many expectations, so does summer. Summer love may be a cultural phenomenon. That book I’m reading? All those movies about summer love? These help us create expectations around relationships in the summer. The relationships are not too heavy. Just a summer fling. Casual. Lighthearted. Temporary.

Light summer clothing.

The site of so many women in summer dresses, shorts and tank tops, bathing suits and shirtless men are all mighty tempting. Whenever I emerge from the house, I see the beauty of men and women with toned torsos and tanned legs on display. That certainly puts me in the mood for summer love.

I know that selecting just the right name can be a challenge for any parents, let alone Will and Kate.

Citizens all across Europe are in a frenzy over the arrival of the royal baby boy.

Betting around this arrival truly had no bounds, with over $2 million staked on this baby’s traits, title and looks.

You can even bet on more than just this baby’s name.  People are wagering on just about everything including:

Names

Hair color

Time and date of birth

University choice

Future profession

This child’s life is being predicted even before he takes his first steps! 

  Popular name choices

When looking at infant names, there are many options being presented, from George, to Alexander, to William.  According to Ladbrokes, the chance of the royal baby being named Elvis is a slim 500 to 1.  Barack has is in a similar boat with the odds of 200 to 1.

Paddy Power gives the odds of 33 to 1 that this new royal addition will be strutting the runway as a fashion model.

One betting site’s PR manager stated that "If the money talk(ed), then the newest heir to the throne will be a 7-pound brunette princess named Alexandra, born sometime in the morning."  Looks like the betting world was a bit off.

  Fooled by look-alikes

People were so eager to have this heir born and named; so eager in fact that they were easily fooled by two lookalikes outside St. Mary’s Hospital in London last week.

A “Will” and “pregnant Kate” appeared outside the hospital where they stood for a few moments of fame.  The pair momentarily passed off as the royal couple and were photographed and filmed.

The bundle of royal joy has arrived and you can expect some people’s pocketbooks to be receiving good fortune.
