looove when dave's friends step in to help deal with bro if he shows up in a post canon au, but despite his avoidant personality, i think he would be pissed if bro was Right There and his friends were standing between them. talking to karkat (could be worse i guess) isnt the same going to a therapist plus he was only 3 years without him. even with his revelations, its not that easy to try and ignore any impulses to try and appease an abusive guardian/ making it look like you arent 'weak'. DS totally didn't get much if any outside help with unraveling all that. maybe he talked with his alt rose way back, maybe he ended up venting to jade, still barely anything.
