      “   what will ever be your excuse this time  ,  lord dionysus ?  ”    the billowing echo of a reply  ;  tinted in shades of indignation.  golden scythe floats behind his back as arms fold across his chest.  silence pursues  ,  but soon a head cants and thanatos speaks once more.  “   was this mortal your best friend once more  ?   though you forgotten their name again  ,  you claim a kinship like no other.  is that correct  ?   oh no  ,  perhaps you owed them a great debt  ...  one so dire it defies even death              even i    ”    nothing personal  ,  but it truly feels directed towards the incarnation.  simply attending to his duties he was and yet someone  ,  somehow always conspired against him.   “   you know what  ,  i don’t care right now.  i will recollect on the morrow.   ”    surely thanatos will construct a good enough excuse for his lord before  ;  paperwork and numbers be damned.

     the action alone catches him off guard.  with calculated eloquence  ,  the woman appears in his lap and presses her form against him.  just like that.  his lap is empty and then it’s not.  she presses against him with little room for him to refuse the action  (  as if he would  )  and keeps herself there.  deathly silent  ,  but clearly appeased with her state.  arms wrap around her  ,  drawn like magnets.  who is he to push her off or refuse  anyway  ?   “   you made yourself right at home didn’t you  ,  love  ?    ”

    consider his attention caught !  with hesitation tossed to the wind  ,  he returns the kiss.  once he pulls back to his full height he squares back his shoulders.   “   was that a kiss for good luck or permission to blow it to hell  ?   ”
