❝ there are better hills to die on but i find this one quite comfortable. ❞ (from Jin Sakai at @legendoftheghost)
❀ ‘ YOU TRULY ARE INSUFFERABLE ‘ her head cants to the side curios, skeptical, snickering deeply into the depths of her own chest. At least he was honest, a quality she could admire despite the quick comeback, petty arguments that she would induce in saccharine sweetness. Sticky syrup oozing for her mouth as she poked, jabbed, prodded at all manners of direction till he learned quickly; to disarm her was not with irritation but a constant collision of keen intellect. Her nose scrunches, momentarily a look of disgust then, laughter. Billowing, thunderous, radiant as she rolls her pale eyes upward. “You already nearly died once, a secondary time over something trivial is just being risky, which I assume you know by now is not how one strategizes” as if she had room to argue, a woman that wrapped herself up in the guise of a docile creature, weeping on cue or bottom lip quivering before the blade would strike.
Dishonorable, she’s heard it far too many times, the spider waits for no one, prey that wishes to escape would be dragged back, devoured in full. There was no need for lacerations, gaping wounds that poured itself outwards, in the quiet sanctum that birthed her, Sayuri merely sat watching the swaying branches of the old wisteria tree. Happy children flock, running about in mid chase, the constant trivial gossip that perfumes the air; for a den of assassins, they were quaint in their hospitality, the notion of being a unit that moved as one. Tea, confections, gentle teasing that came at the pale woman’s expense, her laughter suppressed as if she chose to choke upon it rather than indulge.
“Think, preferably without the stubborn tenacity - I warn that I myself enjoy debates, you won’t win” there wasn’t a flinch when she remarked, too blunt, perhaps charming in her own way even if her tone indicated she was unyielding. Hands resting in her lap, long talon nails, the eeriness that even when her gaze broke; something was deeply amiss. She merely listens to all factions of daily life that continue to sweetly hum, the patchwork doll with a peculiar aroma of sweet powder & wicked grace. “Our morality doesn’t align well, thus I am curious about your decision to seek me out, it usually indicates that what you need requires a delicate touch” to which she huffs, tutting underneath her breath.
“That or violence you are unsure of, hesitation does not fit you, those who seek your head do not spare a second. No worries, I am happy to oblige & give my service”
