word travels fast when an entire country stands on edge ━━━ it takes exactly two hours and sixteen minutes for news of CHRISTOPHER THOMAS’ death to travel to that of the daily prophet’s ears, news headlines plagued with images of a faceless man the following day, labelling the death a horrific murder. and while there are plenty who stand to question the integrity of the prophet in these days of war, this story is one that cannot be disputed. christopher thomas, a middle-aged wizard with not much to show for himself, was last seen fleeing the dark shadows of knockturn alley, some citing the presence of hooded figures following close behind. no one but the death eaters can piece together the truth ━━━ the truth of a man so foolish to have rejected their offer, of the green light that flashed the life out of his eyes and left behind a new-born baby and a long-forgotten muggle wife. mr. thomas was long dead by the time wizarding authorities found him crumpled in a heap behind a loud and bustling inn. it was a job well done.
while the head of the department of magical law enforcement insists that this was a one time ( albeit tragic ) mistake, witches and wizards continue to shout with terror for what will come next, who will be next. the order meets in the basement of a seedy pub, whispering harsh words and quiet memoriam for the man they should’ve saved had they just been quicker. hoards of death eater’s raise a toast to their privilege and safety, hugging wives and children closer as they chatter once again about the security that can be found in the loyalty to blood. there is only one thing EVERYONE is certain of ━━━ something sinister is coming. and christopher thomas was not the first, nor shall he be the last casualty to a long and brutal war.
and here we have it ! the first official plot drop of the rp. i could not be more excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to see how everyone reacts to the news of yet another murder gone by. for a relative time stamp, mr. thomas’ murder occurred on SEPTEMBER 10th, 1980, and the current timestamp stands as SEPTEMBER 10th --- SEPTEMBER 20th, after which we will move forward with another update. for now, all present threads should be set within this time frame, unless otherwise stated in the case of flashbacks ( in which the date should be clearly marked ). i am also going to be adding a tag to the tracked tags, ANTEPLOT, where all plot drops and non-event related updates will be posted. please make sure you are following this tag ! have fun now finally being able to get the interactions rolling, and as always, i can’t wait to write with you all !
