1. What song lyrics most accurately describe the day you’ve had?
I have only just woken up, so I'm going to go with yesterday's, which were the second verse of 'Thickets'; have I been traveling so long that I forgot how to stop? why are my brakes all broken? and so forth. what have I become? but it's not so bad, really. probably.
2. You and a character from the last book you read/movie you watched are hanging out together. What is the first thing you guys do?
oh my god :x that is either someone from Rock Of Ages or someone from Bryant and May On The Loose by Christopher Fowler and I'm not at all sure which is a worse idea :x I haven't actually spent any time with people from either of those (narrowly avoided Stacee Jaxx once but that's another story for another time) so purely choosing on the basis of who I'd most like to meet, I go and visit Maggie Armitage the witch from the Bryant and May books and we have tea and a seance and then more tea. I'd enjoy that :x
3. What is your favourite kind of tea?
speaking of :x but I am boring and only drink ordinary builder's tea I'm afraid, all other kinds are totally flavourless to me.
4. They are making a scented candle and naming it after you. Describe said candle.
oh my god my dream :x it would mostly smell like BPAL's Three Witches perfume, i.e. cinnamon, strong clove and sharp black and white pepper, probably with a hint of apple thrown in as well and maybe some woodsmoke if it could be done right. ALL AUTUMN ALL THE TIME.

my magic bookshelf and a few of the things on it - John Harle's Terror and Magnificence; a bundle of cinnamon; a jar of incense for bee priestesses; also books - one on British trees, one on English folk rituals, Culpeper's Herbal, one on English ruins, and the Crabtree & Evelyn Cookbook which is the best thing I have ever bought and contains sections entitled 'Country Pursuits' and 'Punting Downstream'.
6. What is your earliest memory?
Bird of Paradise flowers in Australia. not sure exactly how old I was but under eighteen months.
7. Who was your favourite fictional character as a child?
oh christ but I had so many, I cannot possibly choose one. I actually can't. I've sat here for ages thinking about this, but everything I read had a favourite in it, and I can't bear to choose between them. sorry :x
8. What is your favourite song to sing along with?
depends how I'm feeling, but generally 'Wow' by Kate Bush or anything and everything by Tori because our ranges are the same. I'll sing along with anything, though. 'What You Waiting For?' by Gwen Stefani is a lot of fun to do at karaoke :x
9. What is the best decision you’ve made in the past week?
saying yes to going to the opera with mum - we don't do it often and we had a really good chat at dinner beforehand and the show was amazing - or buying this gorgeous thing.
10. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
I'm enjoying being here, but my houseblack is having a rough time of it right now and I'd like to be able to be somewhere closer by to be able to help him, and also my answer is always Venice and also always Sussex.

NO BUT YOU KNOW EVERYTHING I NEVER SHUT UP. um. when I was fairly young my mum got rung up in the middle of the day by a frantic opera house in Germany asking if she could fly out and sing that night because someone had dropped out, so we all rushed up to the airport and were bundled into a private jet and flown to Germany, and there was a plastic platter of smoked salmon sandwiches in the plane and my mum said 'don't you feel just like royalty?' and I poked the platter dubiously and said 'at best second-class royalty' because I was Draco fucking Malfoy, the end :x
