(not so) Fun Fact: RC added only 2 new canon Black MLIs throughout this entire year since May 2024—Grant and Zane (I won't count Volot because Anti-Black players can get rid of him—which btw is literally the entire point of Wolot's existence). Compare that to 15-16 new White MLIs: Tristan, James, Dragan, Tai, Aldir (he's a fling but still white and therefore highly requested by the fans), Merlin, Edward, Ralph, Abraham, possibly Hobello, Robert Dudley (apparently also a fling), Albert, Mads, Anders (another fling which begs the question—why are flings always white?) and Michael; also the masked blond guy from AN3 could be an LI (at the very least, the usual begging for The White Male LI has already started in regards to him) I'm sure it's all just a coincidence and definitely NOT a reflection of the unfair societal opinion and negative stereotypes about Black men. With White men, on the other hand, being idolized as perfect romantic leads in tons of romcoms and dramas. And some people in this fandom still have the audacity to complain about Black men ruining RC for them. You see, because of Black MLIs' existence they can no longer consider other options and have to choose The White Man of the story by default 🥺😭I guess the only acceptable number of Black male LIs to them is zero. "Only 2 Black MLIs in a whole year" is already two LIs too many in their opinion

Just started to watch Turn. Are we supposed to hate Abraham? I am quite loving his wife channeling Lady Macbeth, though.

Actually, I’m not done ranting about Abraham.

You know why Abraham and Rosita’s relationship failed? It wasn’t because he didn’t love Rosita, it’s because he didn’t even see Rosita as a person.

Sasha and Rosita are remarkably similar in the show. They have both been through a lot of horrific things and it has made them hard. They don’t put up with anyone’s crap. But at the same time they are both emotionally mature and caring women. They both have this quiet strength about them, but that doesn’t mean they won’t get loud and speak their mind if they’re pushed.

So what is it that Abraham sees in Sasha that he just couldn’t find in Rosita? It clearly wasn’t physical chemistry because he loved using Rosita for her body. What he tells Sasha is that he wants to settle down and have a family, and obviously he couldn’t see that with Rosita. But why? Did we ever see a scene of Rosita saying she’d never settle down? No. Did we ever see Abraham even bringing it up with her? No. Why?

Because he had already written her off as a possible romantic partner. Because he had already reduced her to the sum of her body parts for his personal use. It’s why he got angry when she tried to be his partner, because he never respected her. Because she was just ‘some ass’. He put her in this box and when that wasn’t what he wanted anymore, he had to find another woman to put in another box.

For that matter, did we ever see a scene where Sasha implied she wanted to settle down and raise kids before Abraham decided she was his lucky broodmare? No. Because it doesn’t matter what Sasha wants. He has just decided on his own she’s that ‘type of woman’ opposite Rosita’s ‘type of woman’.

That is why I hate Abraham/Sasha. Because Sasha is not just the next mannequin for him to project his feelings onto. Sasha is not his ‘wife material’ to Rosita’s ‘booty call material’. They are both whole and complete women with their own wants and needs. Sasha deserves so, so much better than somebody like that.
