just saw a white person who was “RCTA to Japanese” getting called racist on here and their response was “well actually racism is saying ‘i hate Asian people’ so i’m not racist!” and it really shows just how ignorant and stupid these people are

like if POC are constantly telling you that what you’re doing is racist, it’s probably racist! you as a white person will never experience true racism and you have no idea what it actually is

P.S. white people do not experience systemic racism. yes, technically, they can experience basic racism, but they will never be oppressed

REAL! Like it’s SUPER ANNOYING when their community is like “anti harassment” and they’re actually just anti being critical of them which is super annoying as someone who tries to help / understand people because some people just wanna scream for no reason but to scream

I get that going through things like that as a child really messes with kids brain, I would know from first hand experience. But I also know that not everyone is a saint and that you have to keep the same amount of criticism for all people no matter what

I really need "good" arguments on why race is a "social construct" from those mf, as if history itself and what is going on today and science arent proof enough that race IS NOT A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT AND IS PRETTY MUCH REAL

Some people really didn’t pay attention in school because obviously they can’t tell the difference between ethnicity / race versus nationality

Nationality IS a social construct based on the country you were born in, in a lot of countries you can change your citizenship / nationality based on if you move (i.e; an Irish American, an Mongolian American, etc)

Ethnicity / race is based on a lot of the physical aspects of your features such as hair type, skin colour, or eye colour, nose shape or based off of a cultural and SOME social traits you were BORN into such as being born Jewish, or being born native / indigenous American.

You simply CANNOT change your ethnicity do to not wanting to be that ethnicity / having a strong interest in said culture.

And when people say “social construct” when referring to race they mean CULTURAL social construct such as language and dialects such aave or Chicano English, values that have been passed down from generation, traditions like celebrating Hanukkah or Diwali, religions such as paganism or hoodoo. It’s not as simple as just being a “made up thing”
