I always see these posts about “imagine if a twelve year old read the sex scenes in YA”. I don’t have to imagine. I like to think I’ve matured from 2017 me, who picked up the acotar series because of course twelve year old me thought it sounded interesting, plus I’d just started reading ToG and still liked it back then. It was so hard for my brain to comprehend what I was reading when it came to Chapter 55, all I knew was that I thought he was hurting her. It really warped my view on sex, up until my school gave well educated classes on the subject. It’s why the subject of sex scenes in YA really makes me upset, because I do know what it’s like for a young child to read it, and I do know how it feels to try and understand when you really don’t. It’s not SJM’s fault that the books were poorly marketed regardless, but she did know that these books were in the YA category, which ranges from 12-18. She still wrote graphic sex scenes for the younger side of YA, despite knowing there was a chance they would read it. And that is one of the main reasons I’m an anti

Gotta rant a little cause I am Upset ™

I knew that a lot of stans had made really gross posts about Sorscha but actually going through her tag on tumblr made me.... oh boy. Just so angry and sad and disgusted.

When I read H0F I wasn’t even a huge fan of her mainly because SJMess didn’t bother to give a Single Reason for her to be in love with D0rian just that she fell for him the first she saw him? Love at first sight really??? Anyway point but I also never disliked her or disliked the ship since I did think they were cute together (though I saw D0rian as bi and in love with Kale) and I like characters who are healers so I was letting her grow on me like a lot of the characters who had wasted potential (:

But ooooh my goooood it pained me to see some of those posts and I can’t even search the pro sorscha tag since so many who made positive posts about her aren’t aware of all the gross posts so they aren’t tagged as pro sorscha...

Maeve ran away from the Valg Kings. I don’t quite remember TOD or KOA but I do know that she went to the perfect fae magic world bla bla bla to start over. In a new reality full of colors, magic, people who would laugh and sing; she didn’t had to stay behind anyone to see the wonders of life. She could have conquered it of course, she is a Valg after all, but she didn’t. Instead, she chose to make Mab and Mora believe they had an eldest sister. Y’all? Maeve is a fucking powerful creature from another dimension what could possible stop her from killing these two and becoming the supreme ruler of Erilea? Absolutely nothing.

She got pissed because her sisters abandoned ( her ) their immortality to live with human men, eventually dying. But they left her with all the power, an army, whatever she could dream of. Yet she decides to stay in Doranelle.

I think she loved Mora and Mab. Like, I really do. AND she wanted the keys to stop Erawan, , , the SAME FUCKING GOAL “GOOD GUYS”.

All I’m saying is that unlike Janet I would simply not turn the abuse survivor into a r*pist, the ultimate villain, write a scene of her seducing her brother-in-law, and then kill her without explaining why she did what she did.
