Google is giving Gemini the capability to read comments on Google Docs, respond to them, and even draft changes based on them.

“The AI can already create images, diagrams, and infographics in Google Docs, and now it can help you understand and take action on comments as well.”

Goal for the week is to jigsaw TSE (and TRM) into something resembling a functional first draft - functional in this case means readable by someone who isn't me and hasn't had me chattering to them about the novels for five years - but most importantly. Get the files off google docs.

For all my writers out there still using programs that steal your work to feed it to AI and such, (AHEM, GOOGLE DOCS) I highly recommend Ellipsus.

It’s still in beta, and I haven’t been using it for that long, but so far I really like it.

It feels actually tailored for writers to use, you can still collaborate/share docs, everything looks significantly more aesthetically pleasing, and it’s entirely free.

I use the browser version but I have heard you can use it on mobile. I have not tested the mobile version so I cannot speak to its quality.

(I’ve even heard through the grapevine that you can directly export your fics to A03, but I’ve not tried that yet either, lol)

So I've been moving away from Google Docs recently. Been using LibreOfficer for a while like I used to do. But I do miss having a word processor while on my brower. Does anybody know any good browser word processors? Free and open source (preferably)?

Hello, I'm wondering if anybody can recommend an alternative to Google docs where I can write my stories without worrying about them being used for AI training. I specifically need it to be accessible both from my computer and phone or any other device so I can write on the same document from whenever and wherever. Thank you to anyone who will respond 🙏
