I want you to know that, in light of what's happened in the US over the past week, that giving up is precisely what they want you to do.

While I don't agree entirely with everything in this post (voting blue is still the most basic form of harm reduction right now, and while the dems are not perfect, they've still done plenty of good that they're still worth voting for), these two paragraphs need to be spread far and wide to those who feel like they're on the verge of caving into doomerism;

This is far from over.

They're recklessly putting this strongman façade together, in the hope that you'll be so consumed by despair, that you'll believe that protesting or voting won't make a difference, and stay at home.

Don't give them that satisfaction.

The election is still 4 months away.

Don't, nay, NEVER give up.

Living in Texas kinda helps learning to get on with watching your vote go into the fire. It's counter productive to decide it's doomed, I don't belive in situations being beyond repair. So I think it's just time to buckle down on makeing the life's of people I know good and trying to do good for those outside of my circle because they may need it.
