Why tf do you hate destiel but ship sastiel? Sam and Cas barely even like each other. I'm so confused why you would even ship them, let alone be anti destiel. Do you pay attention to spn or do you just think the actors are hot or something?

Hi there, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and take your question seriously. No one should have to explain their the reason for their boundaries or triggers, let alone be expected to like what everyone else ships simply because it is popular. Dean is abusive toward his loved ones, and being a victim of abuse my whole life, I tend to avoid situations that may cause my trauma to surface. I'm not going to tell you what you can and cannot ship, just to avoid talking to me about something that makes me extremely, violently uncomfortable. I identity with Sam and his personal struggles more. What fascinates me about Sam and Cas's relationship is the journey, the slow build it goes throughout the show's run. Sam and Cas go from Enemies to Coworkers to Partners to Doing Dangerous Experiments to Chaotic Besties to Sharing a Bed to Coparents. And when Sam lost his faith in everything- his brother, Heaven, himself- he never stopped believing in Cas. Sastiel is about the mutual trauma they shared and helping each other learn to trust and love again. That's so poetic to me.

In future, if someone says they are against something, they probably have a good reason for it. It's not your right to question that or come up with assumptions. And if you payed any attention to my blog, you would know I'm AroAce, and have no romantic or sexual interest in men 15 years older than me. Kindly take your Heller attitude somewhere else

I'm not even surprised... and I shouldn't care... but...

As a Megstiel and Sastiel shipper, I am both angry and upset by this... if it's true that is. Like... wtf. I know I shouldn't care but I've sunk hours into writing fanfic, drawing fan art etc only for him to throw other Cas shippers and Ace Cas fans under the bus. I know it's paraphrased but he himself said it was open to interpretation - like cool - fine. I get that. But then to say this to hellers which are the WORST in the fandom like... does he get that they invalidate us first?

Spn writers, jensen & Eric kripke : Destiel isn't real and Dean isn't gay. Some random extra from s2 with like 3 scenes total : it's real. Hellers: omg we've been validated!! Gay pride!!!

I agree with you 90%. As for gay pride, I’m a huge proponent of LGBTQ+ equality.  I read slash (have you seen H50?  Those two were made for slash).  If people want to read Wincest, more joy to them, even if it’s not my cup of tea. What I do have a problem with is Hellers turning the SPN fandom into a toxic wasteland.

I love fandom.  Fandom led me to my career.  I’m old enough to remember when you bought fanzines from a cardboard box under the booksellers table at Sci Fi conventions.  I have many fandoms.  I tend to stay away from Star Wars because it’s too angry.  The Avengers fandom can become quite shrill at times (especially after Civil War came out).  I usually spend a couple hours a day reading fan fiction.  Never, however, in all my many years of fandom, have I ever seen a phenomenon like what is going on in the SPN fandom where a small sect of fans are pushing an agenda into the real world like the Hellers.

Don’t get me wrong, if they want to ship Destiel, more power to them.  That’s what fandom is all about.  That’s why there is fan fiction.  But this notion that it is acceptable to cyber-bully other fans and the people behind the show is unbelievable, simply because they wanted something that never materialized.  Stalking and harassing the actors who brought them great entertainment for simply doing their jobs beggars belief.  

It’s like stalking, threatening and sending death threats to your local weatherman because he reported that it’s going to rain when you wanted a sunny day.  It’s ridiculous.

The Hellers are under two common psychological phenomenon; an Illusory Truth Effect and Cognitive Bias.  Boiled down to the bare bones, it’s convincing themselves that what they believe is actually the truth simply because they WANT it to be true.  It’s the same thing that hard core Trump fanatics believed when they stormed the Capitol.  It’s what QAnon believers do.  It’s a CULT MENTALITY.  

Fandom is meant to be fun.  It’s meant to be an escape from the harsh realities of life.  It’s meant to be fantasy and imagination and what-if’s.  It was NEVER meant to be about bullying and stalking and badgering someone and trying to validate an idea that was never canon simply because you want it to be so.  I’ll give you a little tip, Hellers.  As The Rolling Stones say - “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and such is life.  If they would take even a portion of all that spite and anger and drive and turn it into making the world around them a better place we’d all be better off.  If they directed all of that energy to charities or politics or hobbies or ANYTHING that isn’t making a place that we come to for stress relief into it’s own type of stressful Hell.  

I know I’m screaming into the void, here, but a girl can dream, right?
