Can someone explain to me the antis/pro-shippers situation?

Without making black or white statements?

The only things I've seen been thrown around are either "these people harass and threaten other people over fictional pairings" or "these people are predators who support rape, cp, incest etc"

I don't understand anything that's going on and since apparently I follow both antis and pro-shippers I'm super conflicted and anxious

Ya know maybe antis are right. Maybe fiction DOES effect reailty.

But instead of causing more pedophiles and rapists it turns anti-shippers into abusive little turds.

It’s affecting them to the point they gotta call people pedophiles even when they ain’t. It effects then to the point that they send people suicide and death threats over fictional characters.

So while it’s not effecting the fans it’s effecting people who have a holier than thou view of themselves.
