The Healer
The Healer is within ourselves. And if we didn’t already know the human body has an amazing ability to heal itself.
Let’s just take for a moment here and think how miraculous our bodies are. When we get a cut, it scabs and we are healed. Our bodies heals from burns and even broken bones. Even when we under go major surgery our body heals. Think about the constant abuse that it takes from our SAD (Standard American Diet) not to mention the constant onslaught of toxins its fighting off, 24/7 of the day; toxins from the environment, from products we use, meds, the cigarrettes we choose to smoke. Our spirits have been placed in an amazing vehicle.
Are bodies are constantly under attack but yet it keeps fighting for us, keeping us alive. Should we not learn to love our bodies more. Although I believe our bodies are just shells. A temporary vehicle for our spirits but why is it that we take better care of our cars than we do our bodies. And God forbid when sickness befalls us, dis-ease and cancer hits us then we start to think of our bodies.
Our bodies take a lot. And when the body is in dis-ease (that’s what disease is DIS-EASE a state of uneasy) it is screaming at us to just wake up. It’s the same way in life. As Oprah puts it best:
“Life whispers to you all the time,” she says. “Your life is speaking to you all around, from the time you wake up in the morning, in every single experience that’s coming into your personal space. All of those experiences are speaking to you. They’re telling you something about your life and about your circumstances.
“It whispers, and if you don’t get the whisper, the whisper gets louder,” she continues. “If you don’t get the whisper when it gets louder, I call it like a little pebble — a little thump — upside the head... The pebble or the thump upside the head usually [means] it’s gone into a problem.”
If you don’t pay attention to the problem, says Oprah, the pebble then becomes like a brick. “The brick upside your head is a crisis,” she says. “[If] you don’t pay attention to the brick upside your head, the crisis turns into a disaster and the whole house — brick wall — comes falling down.” ~Source, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/01/pay-attention-oprah_n_2325665.html
This is so true to life and to our health. If you look back at your own life, I guarantee 100% that there were times in your life when you received that whisper and you didn’t listen. And what happened it turned into a full blown problem.
Our health is no different. I think the problem is that we have gone so far off the path of eating healthy, the way nauture intended with all our modern boxed, packaged, fast and processesd food; not to mention chemicalized with additives and artificial flavoring its no wonder we don’t enjoy what is truly good for us any more. Our taste buds have gone a wry.
In part it is not our fault because believe it or not food mnaufacturers use ingredients that make you addicted. But like anything in life at the end of the day we do have the power of choice. In this information age we have the power to educate and empower ourselves. This is a time where ignorance is not bliss. We may pay with our lives if we remain ignorant.
The thing about our body is it has an amazing ability to heal. We already know that because it does this for us all the time. What we need to do is learn to listen to it. Really listen to it. Because when we do, we will know when something is “off” in our bodies, that there is something we need to change. When we learn to listen to our bodies we will know how to nourish it with what it needs.
From my studies in Holistic Nutrition along with the many countless books I’ve read, our health is not just body, it is mind and spirit. When illness hits us, its not only body. They say those under stress tend to get sick more often too. So when disease like cancer hits us its because we became a welcoming host for it. It’s no question now that diet and lifestyle plays a huge factor more than anything else in whether we get cancer or not. This is fact now. But beyond that I also believe that sickness, illness and even cancer is “stuck” energy.
This is why when you go to Doctors (and they are out there, you have to seek them out yourself) and alternative practicitioners they don’t look at just your engine ie. your body. They look at you and treat you as whole. Because that’s what we truly are meant to be is “whole” not broken. Our health is not only our bodies, it is our mind and it is our spirit. Often times trauma happens in our lives for us to actually “work out” what is truly happening inside. Not just the physical but the spiritual.
They say stress can cause illness. So if there are trapped feelings that have accumulated over 20,30,40 years or a personal trauma that happened in our life it CAN make you sick, literally. Isn’t it true that many of us eat our emotions. So then it also is true we can eat ourselves sick. Because we all know that most of the time when we stress eat we tend to eat the worst kinds of foods. Or not eat at all for some which too can make us sick.
From all the books I’ve been reading so far about cancer patients whom Western doctors say its a miraculous cure, patients know that it was because they took measures into their own hands and took a proctive role in their own healing. This involved nut just drastically change their diets and lifestyle but working all the “stuck” emotional stuff to release that stuck energy that was causing them to be sick.
NOTE: Some did choose the chemo and radiation route and many none at all. In my personal opinion I urge all those to seriously do your research before undergoing “poison” therapy. Because that’s exactly what it is poison therapy. Just think of it from a logical thought, chemo does not know to differentiate what is cancer and what is not. It goes and it kills. That’s why chemo patients suffer extreme symptoms. Remission is not a cure. And from what I hear and have been reading often times with chemo we open the flood gates to cancer spreading else where. That’s what it sounds like to me. Research yourself and decide. Because when chemo kills our immune system what is their to protect us....? And if chemo is the route you choose I would just say you need to AMP up your nutrition even that much more. Your body will need it literally for its life.
And for those who have healed themselves by DRASTICALLY changing their diets and lifestyle, some on their own, some with a doctors that believe in nautral therapies - that for me would definitely be the road I would choose first. But then again, that’s me. My only hope and prayer for all those who have been hit by cancer is to please do your own research too. Because at the end of the day whether you choose chemo or not, when you empower yourself with information at least you don’t feel powerless in the fight. And that alone is win.
And in this whole journey in life we just have to remember that our bodies have an amazing ability to heal if we nourish it with what it truly needs, we learn to listen to it, and begin to heal any hurt that is in our hearts. When we can do this I believe that all of us would be a picture of health. (And I’m sure it goes without saying but I will write it anyway, and exercise. We were made to move. Take a spin class, a yoga class (yes yoga), take your dog for a walk, just move. You will never regret having a workout I promise you that ;-) )
In hopes and in prayers that we all find our way and may we all be blessed with joy and health <3
