Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them
Rule 4: Let them know you tagged them
1) If you had the chance to write a story/book in one of your favorite worlds, which would you choose?
It would be Middle Earth. That world is so well-constructed, so whole and real that I think I could easily find myself comfortable there. Also, I dare to say that I know its history and mythology better than our own, so that would be the perfect setup.
2) Have you ever thrown a book across the room in anger at the ending?
I've never ever violated a book in such a way :) I can't imagine doing so. Having that said, I remember tossing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix onto my bed rather aggressively after Sirius' death.
3) What’s your favorite genre?
I read everything from classics to modern fiction, from poems to epic. Pretty much, really, everything.
4) How long is your favorite longest series?
With its seven books, it must be Harry Potter.
5) Do you remember the first book you ever completely fell in love with?
I was absolutely in love with Felix Salten's book that was read to me as a bedtime story. I can't seem to find the title in English, but it was about a rabbit's life, who grows up in the forest and is captured by men. I think it was the very first story I'd heard that was very relevant to life and was really sad before the happy ending.
6) Do you side with the heroes or the villains in most books you read?
I usually side with the heroes. But then again, there are, for example, the Stephen King books, where the villains are so much more fun. I'm torn, most of the time. It also dipends on what kind of villains they are and what the world is like. I could never ever side with someone like Mr McKindless in The Cutting Room, on the other hand, I was pretty thrilled when Voldemort made a cunning move.
7) If you had the chance to ask your favorite character one question about his journey/quest/story arc, what would it be?
This is the hardest one. It's a Hungarian novel by Dezső Kosztolányi titled Édes Anna (Sweet Anne). She's not my favourite character, but I was always intrigued to know when was the exact moment she decided to kill, because, honestly, after all the hardship she was put through, I'd have killed much earlier...
8) Do you prefer kindles/nooks/etc. or hardcopy books?
Hardcopy!!! Despite kindles being convenient, I instantly associate reading with the feel of the paper, the smell of the book, the ritual of turning a page. Then again, in the last couple of months I've read more fanfiction on my laptop than book in the past few years, so... But I couldn't read a book on computer screen. A Bed of Thorns in a fucking exception but I will have that in paper format for sure...
9) Name two to three authors you love so much you buy their books immediately even without knowing what they’re about.
J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King, Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling. Whoops, that's four. Sorry :)
10) What is one book you think everyone should read?
Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. That book is life in 80 pages. Understandable for even adults :)
11) Do you pay attention to the physical descriptions of characters/places?
Yes. I love descriptions. Most people find them boring, but I just adore them. They train your imagination and add those small nuances that make the story real.
1, Did you like the books that were compulsory to read in primary/high school?
2, Do you think the life/personality of the author is relevant to the story?
3, Which one was the last book you've read and did you like it?
4, What do you think make a child grow to like reading and the world of words?
5, New book or second hand book?
6, Do you like/find it difficult to give book as a gift?
7, Have you ever read something you didn't want in the first place but then loved it to bits?
8, Do you read the book first before watching the film adaptation?
9, Was there a significant person in your life who influenced you in your literary taste?
10, Do you get overemotional while reading? Do you talk to books, scream at them, close them when the tension is too high?
11, Who is the most interesting character you've encountered with?
Thanks, it was loads of fun! Antikryptonite, you're the best!
