When the anit-boobies thing started I think they hit a lot of inactive blogs. I used it occasionally, that sucks. Unless you backed it up manually I’m afraid your’re SOL.

Nooooooooo. *drags hands down face* I had even more inactive side-blogs that they could have taken! They didn’t even send an email! How did I not notice?? Well, RIP AntiMCRreposts. I’ll miss you, you passive-aggressive, optimistic entity.

I'm so tired of having to take off the antimcrreposts caption without destroying the original caption it's not even funny. There has to be a less annoying way to inform Tumblr that this has been reposted like seriously.

PSA on reposters

A lot of people rely on notes to tell them if something is a repost, if something has more than 1k notes they assume it is an original 

THIS IS NOT THE CASE 

There are many other tell tale signs: 

The most obvious one of course is the watermark, CHECK THE WATERMARK! Often the original poster has simply changed their url and with a quick check you may find an "I have moved" page when you search their URL, but other times they are still making use of this URL and their content is stolen.

Some people do not watermark their work so CLICK THE SOURCE, a person who has gone to the trouble of learning photoshop has usually also learnt

a) How to get a nice, clean theme. People with this theme 

are often not original posters.

b) Not to use autoplay, a lot of reposters I have noticed have a combination of a bad theme and autoplay.

c) How to tag their work, original posters often tag their stuff with "mine" or "my edit" ecetera, now some reposters have caught on to this too, we just have to hope that the ones who have, display other tell tale signs of a reposter. 

If you discover what you have stumbled across is a repost PLEASE DO NOT REBLOG IT, it only encourages the reposter to continue what they are doing.

You can: 

Submit the link to antimcrreposts through the ask box we can usually find the original. OR

Search for the original yourself by going to the blog of the watermark and checking their navigation, usually they will have an edit list (edits of frank iero, edits of ray toro, edits of the revenge era ect ect.) click on the member you want and search away, this is a great way to discover other fabulous content by this person.  If they do not have an edit list they may have a tag of their edits/gifs (my edit/my gif)  If they have none of these things listed just go ahead and search tagged/band+members+name or tagged/name+of+music+video+that+gif+is+of and so on, the poster is trying to get their content out there and will usually tag their stuff accordingly. 

If there is no watermark on the post but you are sure that it is a repost, don't reblog it and move on, it won't kill you not to have that post on your blog and it will stop encouraging the reposter to steal people's work.

In our first order of business, we'd like to point out all MCR edit reposters.

Many people work hard on their edits and it's always lovely seeing them on our dashboards and reblogging them.

However, it is not okay for MCR bloggers (or anyone, for that matter) to simply right click an edit, save it to their Documents folders, and repost them as their own.

Sometimes this can be an accident. We see an edit we like so we save it. Then, months later, we forget it isn't ours and upload it and it ends up getting more notes than the original post. Original poster gets angry, you know the rest.

But, we all know that when this happens on multiple occasions it simply isn't just an accident.

Make your own edits. Get your own followers.
