Personality:

Ambitious and intelligent, to a genius level, her work was rather quickly recognized in Aegir- her forays into genetic research fundamental not only in medical research, but also assisted in the creation of the Abyssal Hunters. However, in doing so, she heard the Song of the Deep, and found herself inexorably drawn to it. Now that she has accepted that call and pledged herself to the ascension of Aegirkind, she’s still quite genius- however, a cruel and fanatical side of herself was revealed- she is merciless in her pursuit of perfection, and does not care how many she needs to step on to ensure the completion of her research.

Background:

Even in her childhood, Antina was hailed as a prodigy- her ability to pick up and analyze concepts and problems presented to her was lauded as genius-level. In all honesty, she was bored with her studies early in life. It is only once she was introduced to biology and genetics that she truly found something that interested her further than surface-level analysis. She attended a prestigious medical university, earning her doctorate in genetic research.

After her graduation, she was sought out by many private institutions, but ultimately she settled on the role of a government researcher. The funding was impressive, and the regulations were lax- especially once she proposed a potential solution to their seaborn problem. A mix of Aegir and seaborn would provide the strength of seaborn, but the allegiance to the Aegir would be exactly what was needed to combat a threat such as that.

Of course, in completing her research, and studying the interaction between seaborn and aegir cells, the way that their strands of DNA intertwined... and she heard it. The Song of the Deep. The divine connection between Aegir and seaborn- it was the work of her lifetime- the combination of their two species was the meaning of her life, the reason that she exists... she would see their species joined by any means necessary.

And her first experiment was upon herself. As her scribblings were discovered, she had to flee Aegir to properly continue her research, but only after splicing the remaining seaborn dna she had into her own body. As she was not properly created as a hybrid, her powers would be lessened compared to a proper Abyssal Hunter, but it is more than enough for her purposes.

Now, to continue her research, she keeps in contact with those sects of Aegir and others who worship the seaborn. She feeds them information about the seaborn, and they repay her with funding, and occasionally test subjects, if there are those devout enough to offer themselves up to her strange machines. As yet, those that she has attempted a deeper connection, such as her own, to the seaborn have gone mad, or simply died in the process... but she will not rest until the rest of her species can be shown the truth that she has known. The truth of the Deep.
