For Jasmine Clifford--who calls herself the "AntiVaxMomma" on social media--it isn't enough to refuse the coronavirus vaccine, and it isn't enough to encourage others to refuse the vaccine. She doesn't want to deal with the consequences of her refusal, and she shrewdly deduced that other anti-vaxxers would feel the same way.
So Clifford concocted a scheme to forge and sell CDC COVID-19 vaccination cards. Nadayza Barkley, Clifford's partner-in-crime, abused her post at a medical clinic to add these forged vaccination cards to the New York state vaccine database, so anyone who looked up the card would think it was legitimate.
Their clients included around 250 healthcare, hospital, and nursing care workers, all of whom are required to be vaccinated due to their close proximity to those at higher risk. So far the state has located and charged only 13 of them. Presumably the rest are still out there, aiding the further spread of COVID-19 while fraudulently telling their employers, co-workers, and patients that they've been vaccinated.
