Introducing the Characters
Gluttony is the oldest sibling. Simultaneously the most adult of us all and the second biggest train wreck. Gluttony and the ex produced two beautiful children, Ash and Ember, and I fully believe that they will rule the world if Pride doesn’t get there first.
[redacted] is the second born. A literal train wreck. The best and worst parts of my personality were shaped by this strange being.
Greed is the third. For the rest of my life, I will strive to reach the level of old man energy that they produce. Only person I’ve ever met who thought covering a snow fort with ice was a good idea.
Sloth is the fourth. I can make a good first impression, Sloth can make a good third impression. Please don’t expect anything more or less than that.
Then there’s me, the wannabe writer. Most of the siblings clearly take after mom or dad more, I’m somehow both at once.
After me is Wrath. Right Brain says that she had a two day migraine after giving birth to this one. I believe it.
After Wrath, Lust, Envy, and Pride came in quick succession.
Lust has more sense for style than I ever will. I ask Lust about my outfits, and plan to have them decorate my houses for as long as they live. We all consider sarcasm a second language, but it was Lust’s first language.
Envy is the sweetest creature I have ever had the blessing of knowing. The brain running the whole operation is a little darker than I thought it would be.
Pride. That child.
Left Brain is my father. Good with money, horrible with faces and names, Didn’t know what he was getting into, and by the time I was born it was already far too late.
Right Brain is my mother. She isn’t as patient as some believe, but she managed to raise 9 children without killing any of us. Best and worst mother I’ve ever had.
There will of course be other characters, friends, coworkers, extended family, strangers, the odd nemesis or two; but these are the people I grew up and shared a bathroom with. The biggest parts of me come from them, and my favorite stories are full of their words.
