Tyra got these models in black face for this photo shoot ..................... Wyd
#1: Jennifer
I love the serenity in this photo. The other girls were trying to overcompensate for their struggle shooting under the water by making really dramatic poses and facial expression, but the simplicity in this photo is really calming and works for the shoot. I love the way she’s wearing the scarf and the way she’s looking behind herself. And her legs look fantastic. The photo just works.
Along with cycle 15, this cycle has my favorite top 6 girls
I guess this cycle has my favorite top 6. I don’t particularly love any of the top 6′s though.
#1: Nicole
The reasoning for not giving Nicole first call-out was so bogus. Tyra & Co. said they loved the commercial and that it works perfectly for CoverGirl, but it “didn’t represent Nicole’s personality”. I don’t see anything that is out of character for Nicole her (other than the act of doing a commercial in itself), and who are they to say that this isn’t her personality? Everything here works for me. She draws me in, she connects with me, and she makes sure to keep intensity in her eyes to sell the product. There was no reason for the judges to bring up that random critique.
#2: Brittany
This commercial is technically very good. She’s doing all of the right things to make a good commercial, but there’s just something missing from making it the best of the week. Maybe it’s a relate-ability thing? I acknowledge that it’s a technically sound commercial, but I just don’t really connect or relate with Brittany. It does look like something CoverGirl would use, though, which is good.
#3: Jennifer
I was actually a bit confused when they gave Jennifer first call-out for this. Yes, her vocals were probably the best out of all of the performances this week, but her movements in the commercial were kind of whack. It looked she was moving just for the sake of moving rather than doing what came naturally to her. There are also quite a few moments where her eyes look dead, which is bad for an eye makeup commercial.
#4: Laura
Laura’s dyslexia definitely hindered her here, but she worked through the mess-ups pretty well. There’s never a point in the commercial where Laura gave up, even though it would have been easy for her to, and gave usable takes for every line she delivered. Ultimately, I think that’s the most you could have asked of Laura at that moment.
