Why? They are both clearly bantering and we’re told that neither Antoinette nor their relationship were portrayed entirely accurately.

It makes me laugh that the fandom has always been more upset about her than Louis ever was.

I was being facetious. I was reacting as if a man PERSONALLY told ME that.

I think you have to recognize that some people put themselves in Louis’ shoes and that is why they react the way they do.

Personally, I am not a fan of that type of banter; I guess they do it OK

Regarding the Antoinette thing, not only are writers retconning the first two seasons they are basically mocking them .

more downplaying of Louis’ experience at the rue royale…pass. now louis really is just a saint while lestat calls him a whore, a cancerous jackal, but #justiceforantoinette the racist woman he cheated on him with. this is not a relationship and i don’t care about it. some “loustat” fans would be fine and happy if louis was just a silent muse who smiled at lestat. actually they want him humiliated, tortured? and taking care of poor baby lestat. literally nothing about his character seems to matter to these “shippers” at all.

Why do you think SHE was racist? Because she said she liked men with burnished complexions? How is that racist in the year 1920?

Louis knew Lestat was dealing with her. He even says in his own voiceover, that he allowed it to happen. And yes, later on Lestat wasn’t honest; but that’s on Lestat (which Louis is taking him to task for), I’m not putting that on the other woman.

Besides:: Antoinette in the books was Antoine, and Louis was white. Lestat was having an affair with Antoine…. so it’s part of the story. Don’t make this about Jacob or his race because it’s originally in the book.

Sam also said that Lestat was proud when Claudia killed Antoinette.

I do think he had feelings for her though but she too was just a distraction.

I'm betting money, and I might be wrong. It will be revealed that Lestat actually cared about antoinette, and he treated her quite well.

That always interests me because Lestat is essentially poly at this stage… he was still with Louis at the time and Lestat maintains partnerships and compartmentalizing them as “I get this thing from this person and I get that thing from another person…” so fascinating that the same people who can accept this with Lestat, can’t fathom accepting such a thing IRL 😅

I wonder if the show is going to show Louis feeling angry at first because he didn't even know that Gabi existed. Then I think he will be jealous and protective of Lestat.

I don't know if he will actually witness anything between Gabistat though. Louis already has a lot of insecurity due to Antoinette, so him seeing Gabi and Lestat kissing or something would really separate them this season. Which isn't the story I think they are trying to tell.

I think Louis is going to see Gabi as a manipulative and a selfish "mother" type with no boundaries or real respect for Lestat. And he will start to understand why Lestat is so emotionally clingy because he was pretty much neglected by Gabi.
