Hey, I'm back (I guess)
It was a difficult six months during which I worked hard to pick up the pieces after a bad breakup. Thanks to the therapist, as well as to my favorite comedians for support during this difficult time. I decided to try to work in a more realistic style, I've always liked the combination of smooth and textured brushes, so I experimented with them a little here.
For many years, I've had a lot of support from a quartet of Russian improv comedians, so I decided to start drawing them in order to keep myself in reasonable mental shape. This is one of them, his name is Anton Shastoon, and the Russian guys are probably very familiar with these wonderful, incredibly talented guys. I'm very proud to know one of these guys personally (not him), and I can say that they are truly absolutely wonderful people. I'm glad that thanks to them I can again look at my drawings, if not with pleasure, then at least with a feeling of a job well done. I’m also attaching to the post a recording of the drawing process, mostly for myself, but maybe someone might be interested in seeing how I work.
PS
While I was away, filming of Stranger Things began, which I am incredibly happy about. The lack of news also really depressed me, I didn’t feel the strength to draw the Bylers all this time, but I hope that the news from the filming and the speedy release of the season will return my desire to create art for this series, and the Bylers in particular.
