Brainiac 5
The 31st Century hero known as Brainiac 5 is a teenage native of the planet Colu named Querl Dox. The youth claimed to be the distant relative of the deadly Superman villain known as Brainiac and petitioned for membership in the Legion of Superheroes as a means making atonement for his descendant's past misdeeds. Querl possesses a ‘twelfth level intellect’ granting him superhuman calculation skills, near flawless rational reasoning, an eidetic memory amazing memory and exceptional technical knowledge even by the standard of the futuristic 31st century.
Querl was accepted into the Legion and took on the alias of Brainiac 5. The young hero proved an invaluable member of the Legion, developing for the team their signature flight-rings. He additionally devised a successful treatment for Mon-El's deadly lead poisoning and refined the team’s time travel technology. Although not all of his inventions proved beneficial and the artificial intelligence he created ended up going rogue and becoming Computo, one of the Legion’s most deadly foes.
Akin to most of the Legionaries, Brainiac 5’s backstory has gone through numerous changes with the various retcons to continuity. While his origins and abilities remain relatively the same, his personality often fluctuates. In some of these continuities he is friendly and kind while in others he is surly, egotistical and dismissive. In most of these tellings, Brainiac 5 has had romantic relationship with the present-era heroine Supergirl.
Actors James Marsters and Jesse Rath have portrayed live-action versions of Brainiac 5. Actors who have provided the voice for the character in animated projects include Matt Czuchry, Adam Wylie, Benjamin Diskin, Noel Fisher and Harry Shum Jr.
The young hero first appeared in the pages of Action Comics #276 (1961).
Poor little you, thinking that your S/O would choose you over the world, when the moment came dread washed over you as you realized they seemed to be actually deciding whether to save you or not, but after a brief moment your eyes catch the softest smile adorning the corner of their mouths "Silly of you to think you were ever in real danger, my love" they coo sweetly in a tone that they only use with you, just like that whatever impression of an upper hand the threat had dissipated completely, you were the only one safe this entire time, your loved one made sure of that by manipulating everything and everyone.
No amount of galaxies slain and burned to cosmic ashes would make you feel as safe and loved as the fact that they risked everything just so you wouldn't even be a factor they'd need to consider saving. You were the only thing that mattered ever since the beginning.

DP x DC Prompt [28]
Danny messed up...
During a fight in the zone he accidentally went through a random natural portal that closed once he went through and he's been looking for a way back ever since.
While looking he's come into contact with a colourful bunch of people who call themselves the legion of superheroes.
It appears they are a collective of heroes from all kinds of planets working together to help all over the universe.
Despite the whole; several heroes his age thing and, the aliens thing, Danny can't really enjoy the experience because they were also the ones to tell Danny that time travel is illegal, so they can't really be of any help.
And Danny might be a little more stuck than he originally thought.
The situation is getting somewhat worrying, he's not gonna lie...
But! He did get introduced to this Brainy guy and maybe, just maybe, if he's nice enough or something, he can convince him to make a portal back into the realms anyway.
Meanwhile Querl has now met someone who can emotionally read him completely.
It's a surreal experience to have someone around him who just knows how he's feeling without him having to explain himself.
Now if only Phantom had a higher level of intelligence and they could have some really interesting debates...
Alas, can't have everything. Too bad.
Still, Phantom's stories about this 'Infinite Realm' place sounds absolutely fascinating.
And it just so seems to be that the ghostly hero has blueprints for the construction of a gateway to the place on his absolutely archaic communication device.
"Phantom, allow me to have a look at those blueprints you mentioned."
Querl already holds out his hand to accept the device from Danny without waiting to hear if he'll accept or not.
Danny can see some of the people around them giving him an apologetic look, probably figuring Danny would find Querl to be rude.
And maybe Danny would, if he couldn't feel the curiosity pouring off of him.
So before anyone can say anything Danny chirps, "sure! Here you go."
And hands him his phone.
As Querl pours over the data, Danny internally figures that its now only a matter of time until he's back home.
