Gikwang // Jongup - Need a place called Home
When he saw a flyer outside a pole about an available room in a house, he took his phone out as quick as possible and dialed the fading numbers on the piece of paper. The advertisement seems shady and all because of the lack of design and that, but still Jongup really wants to be independent, and if the cost of it would be having fooled or scammed, then so be it! At least he tried.
When the call ended his smile grew wide. People around him stared at him as if he’s a weirdo beside a pole, gosh if only they know what Jongup just got. He finally has a place OF HIS OWN. He chirped in delight after that call, glee ran through his vein as if it was liquid and pumped all the energy to his body. He ran as fast as he can to his parents’ house to share the glorious news he just got.
After hours and hours of explaining the situation to his mother, she finally agreed and went straight to their room. Jongup felt a bit of guilt to see his mother act like that, yes true it’s that mothers love their sons, but there were times where the son will have to have a home of their own, and now was that time. Jongup’s father patted his back and smiled at him, eyes look proud but misty as well. He smiled back and went to his room to pack his bag for tomorrow.
He couldn’t fall asleep that night. He turned, shuffled and sometimes tried to tire himself out to sleep, but it didn’t work, he just stared at the night with a big grin on his face.
Tomorrow became today, sun rising high and it’s already 11 when he woke up. Apparently he dozed off around dawn and having only minimal hour of sleep made his head pound in pain, but he must stick to the schedule or else the room might be given to someone else. The rent was cheap, which was actually the reason why Jongup took it without any second thoughts, and also that might be the reason why other people might take it if he’s not quick enough.
His hand tightened around the strap of the bag containing some of his clothes. He decided that he would just get his other stuff later after he had already settled in. The place where the house is just 10 minutes more from work than when he was living in his parents, but it was okay for him since his priority would be moving out, he just settled for waking up earlier than he’s used to for his work.
After 40 minutes of travel, he finally reached the place. He stood outside the house awkwardly, hand around the strap of his bag as the other clutched his phone. He went to the door, steps a bit skipping that usual and feeling a bit excited for the new experience, and knocked on the door. “Everything will be fine Jongup, don’t be too nervous.” He muttered to himself as he waited for the door to open.
