It felt like he’d been walking for ages with how little progress they’d made through the forest and how hard it was tell the time from the thick canopy above them. There wasn’t much they could do about it though as the only way back to Castelia City was through the wooded path. Not that it made him feel any less anxious but he still did his best to press forward despite the rustling of leaves making him flinch every so often, Audino smiling up at him and patting his side in reassurance. Hopefully it wouldn’t be too much longer before-What was that noise?!

Goodness did it feel strange being in another region... How exactly he of all people had managed to win a trip there for a few weeks he didn’t know but perhaps he could use the time to train and get better prepared for the next Gym he was going to face back home. Not that Audino seemed keen on that though with how she had her cheeks puffed out and was currently escorting him down the road to his quiet embarrassment.

“A-ah... A-audino... P-please slow down!”

It felt like he had been walking for ages... Since the Gym still wasn’t fully renovated in Nimbasa yet he’d decided to make his way to the next city and was currently traversing the route nearby to try to train properly for the other gym. Though with how long it had taken him to fully recover from his trip through the desert he was still trying to take things a bit easier than he had been. Which was why he tensed as he swore he felt something watching him...

As soon as the Pokemon addressed him he immediately looked away, shuffling to the side to let it pass as Audino reassured him with a smile. She was rather helpful when it came to these sorts of things and even more so now that she could speak with him. He breathed a sigh of relief as she stood between him and the other Pokemon in any case and wrung his hands as he tried to act normally. It wasn’t terribly easy to handle with so many people around.

He blinked in some surprise as he gazed down to see that a Pokemon had picked them up and was holding them out to him, carefully bending down and taking them with a warm smile before he cleaned them and placed them on with shaking hands so he could read the map he had. It was hard for him to see small print after all.

“A-ah? T-thank you... I-I must have d-dropped them when I was g-getting the map...”

Goodness... Ever since he had met and befriended Darumaka he’d been having trouble walking as far as he needed to when they traveled. That was largely due to the large bruise across his chest from when he’d been trying to protect the little Fire Pokemon though and he knew that Darumaka still felt bad for hurting him like that.

In any case he paused to rest for what felt like the hundredth time and smiled in reassurance at Audino as she gently hugged him and fussed over him before tensing as he heard someone approaching. It was rather early in the morning so who else could possibly be on the path with them? And why did they look so familar...

“E-eh? M-my apologies... I-I will not linger here too t-terribly long...”

Ishimaru blinked in complete surprise as he turned to see a familiar looking Pokemon making its way towards him. It had been some time since they had last met and he had not expected to come across him when he stopped to rest and eat with his Pokemon. Though he was still glad to see him and he nodded slowly before a small squeak came from his bag. Munna must be waking up from her nap.

“E-eh!? A-aura-san? I-it certainly is... I-it is good to see y-you... A-ah... O-one moment... I-I think Munna is awake...”
