I don't know everything, of course..." It wasn't like she was a scholar on this matter. But Ishi needed her help and so she'd dove in as best she could. The dark circles beneath her eyes were a clear indication on how hard she'd been working to get to the bottom of this.

"I ... Don't want you to freak out. I know this is scary and I think... I think we can handle this together." Calondra suddenly remembered in that moment that his father would likely be expecting him home soon enough. And how was she going to explain that she had Ishi in her home, bu that absolutely nobody could see him...

Oh... Oh goodness... Did... Did one of those people...? Surely he would have heard them if they did approach him but then again... If they were whatever strange creature he was then it did make sense with how sudden it was. Being so caught off guard had made his memory of it unreliable regardless so the only answers they had were this.

But it only made him question so much more. How was this possible? Where had they gone to to cause something like this? Why wasn't this more prevalent if it did do this? Maybe... Maybe if they looked into where they weren't supposed to go then... He'd been wringing a set of hands as they'd been talking and puffed up as his phone made a noise, gingerly lifting it and seeing it was his father informing him he wouldn't be home yet again that night. Why hadn't he considered...!?

"Tea? I'll get right on it." Calondra moved with such speed and intent, that it was clear she had been preparing herself all night on how to handle this situation. No more fear. No more hesitation. He needed her to be the brave one. The one in complete control.

A few minutes later, she placed the cup on the table before him. The air was still and heavy with what needed to be said. Calondra paced back and forth a few times before coming to a seat before Ishi, folding her hands on top of the table.

"... I think you might have been cursed. I don't know why or who would want to do such a thing. But there are some clear similarities..." But also some key differences ... Calondra just wasn't sure what to make of this entire situation

It was honestly impressive how quickly she was able to make that tea and while he was still concerned with how she was doing he couldn't help but appreciate it. After how sudden this had all been he needed something normal. Something that always helped to ease him. How exactly the tea would be drunk would be different but the warmth of the cup alone was helping to ground him considerably.

Even seeing her pace like that was eased by having it there. But... a curse? Why would...? He'd been running that moment through his head over and over to try to make sense of it but since his memory of it was marred by how terrified he'd been he couldn't picture it all that clearly. What on earth had she managed to find?

"E-eh... T-thank you... I-I... W-what... W-what sort of c-curse? I-I... W-where did you find this?"

How did he keep coming across this person when he wasn't in the best state? It was honestly shameful that he had to see him panicking like that and he simply obliged as a result, pulling his legs up against his chest and taking slow careful breaths even as he still shook. Why did this have to happen? Why did he have to be like this?

"Drinks? Well, I'm more than happy to make you something to drink first off. Do you personally like coffee?" Some teens his age were already very keen on caffeine, while others found it a bit too much. Calondra couldn't be sure how this particular teen would feel. Once again, Calondra found herself babbling beyond her control... Always unsure what to say or do. The worst part was that she hated how weak it made her seem, how unsure and weak. When he needed her to be strong.

"Sorry. Let me just... Breathe for a second. I have been up half the night doing some research..." First on her phone and then she yanked out her ancient laptop when that got a little inconvenient. What Calondra had found wasn't... The good news she was hoping for. But, maybe any information was better than none. Still, Calondra hesitated to say what was on her mind.

"How much do you know about curses?" The words felt butter on her tongue.

As much as he wanted to correct her on what he'd meant he merely mumbled that some tea sounded good and carefully took a seat at the table, grimacing as he recalled how he'd dug his nails into it. As soon as he could he would make up for all of this. He had to. She was doing so much for him, the fact she'd spent so long looking only adding to his worry, and he just... He felt terrible for inflicting so much on her.

But at that last question he came out of his thoughts and gazed over at her with several eyes wide open in fear. A curse? Was this... a curse? Was that why he'd been attacked? But then... where had they come from? Why attack him? Oh goodness... All of this was so terribly confusing. What on earth had she managed to find?

"A-ah... N-no... I-I eh... T-tea sounds nice... I-I... C-certainly... P-please... T-take your time... E-eh!? I-I... W-well... U-um... I-I know some eh... s-simple things... b-but eh... N-nothing more than that..."

"Oh hey! Good morning, dear." Calondra spun around, her usual warm and comforting smile lighting up her face. With everything else that was happening, it would have made sense if she would have been... Perhaps a little more distant. The being before her looked nothing like the Kiyotaka she actually knew fairly well. Apparently, his change had brought along danger for them both, after all of her work to make a quiet life for herself. And yet... She smiled and welcomed him, as if this were any other morning, leaning to lay a gentle hand on what would be his shoulder.

"Perhaps this isn't even the right question to ask but.. can you eat in this form? Do you... Know? I'm more than happy to make you some breakfast but I would hate to overstep and -" Oops. Calondra was rambling once again. She pursed her lips shut.

"Sorry...."

Her warm tone both eased him greatly but also troubled him, flushing as a gentle noise left him as she placed a hand on his now fuzzy shoulder. While he was relieved to have someone who wasn't utterly horrified at him he did worry that she was simply acting that way to not upset him. She'd always been so gentle with him and as much as he was clinging to that currently he didn't want her to have to push down anything like he usually did himself.

Not that he'd voice that with how little he wished to upset her himself and how much she was trying to help him. He wanted to but... He just... He'd always had trouble with these sorts of things. The fear of troubling her over nothing and what could follow was far stronger even if it pained him to know that. Though at her question he would tilt his head and meekly wring two of his hands while another fiddled with his shadowy hair.

"A-ah... I-I eh... I-I don't know... I-I... M-maybe it will be like the eh... d-drinks? I-I... Y-you don't have to apologize t-though... I-I... I-I'm just glad you're here..."

He wasn't sure when but at some point he had to have fallen asleep because he woke up sprawled in a corner on the floor. The door was still blocked as well so whatever was meant to come for them hadn't done so yet. He could still faintly feel it though. The presence of that voice. How that was possible he wasn't sure but then again... He gazed down at his clawed hands and the darkness enveloping him and sighed, looking over as he distantly heard sounds from the kitchen. He didn't know what he was supposed to be but... At least he wasn't alone with it.

So he stumbled to his feet and shakily made his way over there, a trill leaving him as his antennae brushed against the ceiling and forced him to hunch over more. Why did he have to be so tall now? And have two sets of limbs? Why did he have to be this?
