Norman wouldn’t necessarily say it out loud, but he is a creature of habit and routine. He likes to do things in a certain way, at a certain time and at a certain place. To him, it feels like he has complete control over it. There’s no uncertainties for the most part. It’s hard for him to describe, other than it gives him comfort and helps him settle in his own skin. A break in his routine often leaves him feeling a little uncertain.
Like today, for example.
After lunch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and the occasional Saturday, Norman would leave his Gym for about an hour or so to take a walk through Petalburg Woods. It’s a routine he developed during his early years of being a Gym Leader, as the stresses of the day tend to creep up when he least expects it. Taking a step away from the Gym, and taking a nice long walk through nature helps him to relax, as well as recharging his batteries to tackle on the rest of his day.
Of course, he also takes the opportunity to pick up lost items to bring back with him. Sometimes it’s the odd tupperware container, other times it’s a PokeGear. Norman understands that it can get tricky to navigate in the forest, and that visibility isn’t the best the deeper you get in, but it still astounds him on how inattentive people could get. Certainly one would have made sure that all of their items were still on their person. Evidently, that’s not the case.
He’s been here for years, so he knows the paths by heart. Norman had only entered the forest for a little while before he hears footsteps rapidly approaching, followed by a breathless cry for his name. He turns around to find a frantic looking young man, who told him through gulps of air that there had been trouble. Apparently, he’d been jumped by a couple of thieves, and then a kid who had witnessed the event had went after them.
“I-I knew you were in here, and thought you’d be better to handle them! Please help him!” Norman gives a solemn nod, a pat on his shoulder as thank you for informing this to him before he’s off like a rocket in the direction he’s given. As a Gym Leader, he has the responsibility to look out for the safety of the citizens. Thieves who thought they could run rampant within his turf? They have another thing coming.
Eventually, he exits the forest, entering Route 104. Norman immediately zeroes in at the sound of a scuffle up ahead, and comes to a scene of a Pokemon battle between a kid and a couple of adults. The Gym Leader wastes no time in sending out his Kangaskhan, her appearance briefly commanding attention. He takes the opportunity to approach the kid.
“Are you alright, young man?” he asks with a serious look.
For approximately 48 hours at the age of 7, Leaf though she was a Clefairy princess trapped in a human body. She thought she had a greater mission to accomplish, and that she had to reunite with her people. She snuck out of her house one night and spent the night with the Clefairy, where she figured out she didn’t like nature very much. She returned home before morning. No one knows about this, not even her parents. She’s never told anyone either.
Karen sat cross legged in her first class airport seat the blue haired woman flipped through a designer fashion magazine she had brought with her for the flight, her Pokémon resting inside their Poke Balls in her luggage packed in her overhead bin, her Umbreon would be grumpy over how his trainer put him in his Poke Ball, but Karen knew he would settle down if she got him some Malasada, looking out the window to catch a glimpse of the famous Alolan blue skies, the woman took a drink of her sparkling water and thought of the certain champion dressed in red who called upon her, wanting her opinion on an apparent “variation” of Kanto Pokémon found in Alola, Karen was proud he had thought of her when he made the discovery, but the model wasn’t just going to please her friend. The woman placed the empty wine glass down and stared at the ring with a sliver band and large white sphere on it, a “Key Stone” as the people in Kalos referred to them, a powerful tool Karen had managed to earn in her previous Kalos battle maison victory. Apparently these odd little gems were a piece to the puzzle that is “Mega Evolution” something that peaked Karen’s interest very much, ‘with the destructive force that mega evolution can bring, I might be able to seize the Champion title for my-‘
“Attention all passengers, we will be arriving in Poni island shortly, please place all personal items away and please buckle yourselves, thank you.”
Karen, startled at being interrupted mid plotting, had ripped the page of her magazine she was still gripping, and sighed placing the ripped item in her coach purse for the time being, and thought about the Battle Tree, Poni island was not Karen’s ideal location but the Battle Tree won’t move for her, no matter how many “formal” complaints the elite had whined about to her fellow Johto league members, but Karen had heard the winners of the tree top tournament could score themselves some mega stones, the other piece to the puzzle Karen needed. The last piece needed as a strong bond between Pokémon and Trainer, this process was rumored to be extremely difficult, straining not only said trainer and Pokémon but their bond as well. Karen thought of her houndoom for a second, she was currently resting inside her Poke Ball waiting upon her master to call her to fight, the hellhound could be just as stubborn as her trainer and twice as vain, but the two had fought side by side for years now, clearly a trainer as ELITE as Karen could unlock her own Pokémon’s potential. Said bluenette felt the plane begin to slow down as she placed the discarded glass into a more suitable holster she sat patiently as the swan shaped Jet began to descend.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, we have arrived at Poni island. Please grab your items from the overhead bins and exit in an orderly fashion through the top left exit. Thank you for choosing Swanna Skies, Alola!”
Karen, relieved the flight was over, stood up grabbing her purse and luggage, preparing herself, she placed on her sun hat, sun glasses, and pulled her luggage behind her as she strutted down the walkway in her yellow heels, walking down the bridge and into the airport exit, Karen scanned the area for the Champion that had requested she make the commute.
All in all, Fire had to admit that he had never been very good at navigating cities. He was from Pallet Town, after all -- basically, crowded urban areas weren’t his natural habitat. So it was no surprise that he was late meeting Red at the determined rendezvous spot. And not just a little late.
He may have also slowed down to sample some locally-made treats at a roadside stand. Don’t tell Red.
A familiar figure stood out to him in the distance, and Fire approached at a typical ambling pace, raising a hand to get his attention.
“Hey,” he called out, approaching his friend with an apology already at the ready. “Sorry I’m late.”
Not the best effort put into his words, but the other was likely used to Fire’s rather... easy-going pace by now.
Sun tries to take time out if he can when flooded with fear and anxiety, walking around or by having a cup of tea to distract himself. If he can’t do that, he just focuses on his breathing.
“Someday I want to be able to buy my parents the beachside house they’ve always wanted. They work too hard and aren’t rewarded enough. I want to help make sure they can retire, but I don’t know how I’m going to do it,”

Night time in Lumiose City could honestly be described as the most beautiful sight to see in all of Kalos. At night, Lumiose Tower was completely lit up, and all around the magnificent city, streetlights would light up, one by one, almost like stars in the night-sky. This contrasted with many of the homes in Lumiose, whose lights turned on almost simultaneously, with the exception of few homes who were either empty, or late to the fact that it was nighttime.
Electronic advertisement boards shone brightly through the darkness, showing large pictures of famous actors, like Diantha, or famous trainers throughout Pokemon history.
However, aside from the tower shining proudly in the centre of Lumiose, nothing could compare to the sight of Hotel Richissime.
The famous, and rather expensive Hotel had been lit up, dressed up, and prepared for a rather history-making social event, all planned by one man. Lysandre. Having made countless physical and economical donations to various different charities and establishments in need, Lysandre had been attempting to come back from his downfall involving Geosenge Town, and this social event was no different from the others - with the exception of one thing.
Lysandre had sent out invitations to many of the worlds finest trainers, as depicted on many of the advertisement boards scattered around Lumiose. ‘A chance to meet those, you only see in your dreams’, was one of the many slogans on the invites for many sponsors and millionaires that lived around Kalos.
Thankfully, most had come, to Lysandre’s pleasure, and the entire event seemed to be going well.
The entire hotel had been rented just for this event, with anyone who came getting a key to one of the many rooms for free. The main lobby of the hotel, was full of tables, with various refreshments dotted all over the white sheets, there was entertainment in the form of a jazz band playing in the corner, and lots of talking and mingling amongst trainers and millionaires. Sat atop the main receptionist desk was a pot for donations, which was very much almost full of money. It was being guarded by a very tired and grumpy Pyroar, which belonged to Lysandre, of course.
The man himself was stood with a glass of champagne in hand, with a holo-caster in his hand. He appeared to be speaking to Sycamore, but their conversation had just finished. “Again, Augustine, It was a shame you couldn’t make it tonight. The guests were rather... optimiste to see the Pokemon Professor of Kalos. But... I suppose it can’t be helped. bonne nuit mon ami”
Hanging up, he slid the holo-caster back into the pocket of a rather fanciful suit. It was considerably different from his usual black suit with red trimming. Instead, it was white, with black trimming, and a white tie that contrasted the black dress shirt he wore. He wore low heel black shoes, which were polished to look pristine, and he looked extremely presentable, which was the way Lysandre preferred to look.
Taking a sip of his drink, he scanned the crowd, smiling. The room was full of such beauty, such perfection and elegance was all in one room, together. It was almost like a dream but... this mindset was what caused his downfall. His own ambitions were put before People and Pokemon, and that, was something he was trying to break.
Lance is somewhat ambidextrous. There had been a time during his early Champion days where he broke his dominant arm. Instead of resting like any person with common sense, he chose to continue doing his work like usual, using his left hand. It had been difficult, and there had probably been a few documents that got ripped, but he pushed on with sheer will and spite. He’s still able to, but for the most part, use his left hand but he sticks with his right.
