night out | green & leaf

Well of course he was gonna be embarrassing; he was her brother; it was his job to do that. And yes, sure, he’d seen Leaf just last week, but the look she had on? You couldn’t find that sort of style in the windy region of Kanto! The cutest thing she could put on was… leg warmers back when she was a kid. But the look! The glam! The allure! She was a star!
Of course he had to compliment her and of course he had to embarrass her! How else were folks around gonna know she was hot and single? He was doing her a favor! “Nooooo I’m not gonna let you go I gotta swing you around at least three more times, okay? One — two —! Three!” And, as promised, he put her down, but made sure that doing so was as loud, noticeable, and obnoxious as possible.
He offered up to her the bag of malasadas. “And heeeeere ya go, just as promised —” Nah, you thought wrong. He pulled it back. “— So long as you don’t hate me. Got it? Goooood~” And he offered it right back.
Green threw an arm around her shoulder as the two walked, offering to take her suitcases so she could squirrel up some malasadas, leading them back into the city. “I have not been holed up in a lab. I’ve been holed up on top of a giant fucking tree, battling trainers. And when I’d be done with that, I’d go explore — y’know, in the outdoors. Just look at this tan.” He showed off the back of his arms, noticeably a bit darker than the front sides. “I’ve been studying Alolan form Pokemon since I got here. Y’know those? They’re Kantoan Pokemon, but, like, adapted to here. Vulpixes are Ice-type! Digletts are part Steel. It’s incredible! I’ve gotta show you the notes I’ve taken when we get back to the hotel… But first thing’s first! We’ll drop off your bags, I’ll show you my notes, and then we’ll head over to the Berry Field and the bakery and all that jazz. Sound cool?”
The rocky ocean waves had nothing on Green spinning her in the air. Leaf was gonna be sick, whether it was from his overdramatic life decisions or the centripetal force she did not know. What she did know what that she was hungry and Green was handing her a bag of malasadas. She could get behind that.
“You might be a little dumb but I could never actually hate you, you know that, especially if you’re feeding me,” she laughed, snatching the bag from his hands. She let him take her bag as they strolled into the city. Leaf had to roll her eyes. She knew he was on a “giant fucking tree” but she couldn’t pass up the chance to make fun of him. Green got so excited about his research that Leaf worried he’d forget about normal human functions. It was good to see him relaxed and having fun, and it was impressive to see he’d done so much too.
“Can I come watch you battle sometime? I’ll make a giant sign that says ‘I LOVE YOU GREEN’ and a shirt with your face on it and cheer you on,” she joked, sort of. Leaf hadn’t watched him battle in ages. It was one of the little things she didn’t know she’d miss about him being far away. It was always fun to watch him in his element, and who was she to pass up a chance at embarrassing him? “I’ll go anywhere you want as long as you one, take me to the berry fields, and two, help me catch an Alolan Vulpix sooner or later. Eva could use a friend her size,” She was secretly excited to see Green’s notes. The Alolan sun seemed to reinvigorate her and her limitless curiosity.
“Let’s go! We can’t just sit on the dock forever,”
