      ‘  i, uh  ––––  i did something stupid.  i don’t know if you’re going to like it.  ’   she does her best for a  warning,  but ellie can barely manage to get her bags full of provisions  ––  filled to the brim, and a far better haul than the month before  ––  down before her  bad  idea  practically tears through her backpack trying to escape.  it’s a tiny slip of a kitten, and the fact that ellie could  see  how dirty the thing was despite the black fur tugged at her normally  overly  logical heartstrings.  as she lets the kitten out of the bag, she offers up an apologetic grimace, as if that’s going to change the fact that there’s now an un-discussed cat roaming the living space.   ‘  i couldn’t leave it there.  ’      /     @eonien
