AGE OF ASHES - APPLICATION PREVIEW - with the soft opening approaching, here is an idea of what the profiles will look like! AOA will take advantage of OOC accounts, which you will register first, and then make your character accounts after. Here are the points for the application! THE CHARACTER PROFILES

- a square image to be uploaded via the ‘avatar settings’ in the upc - another image for the profile to be linked in the profile settings in the upc. we have coded the site for the ability to resize images for theses spaces, so you do not have to worry about exact sizing. but if you are having issues, you can ask staff to help with the images! The two images in the profile do NOT have to be of the fc, but can be art or aesthetics! if you use art, please put the credit in the appropriate place - we have some fun dnd based stats, purely for character fun only, this does not have any in-game effects  - a freestyle section that gives us an idea of the character. do what you want - skills is a place for you to list or go indepth about your characters skills and abilities as a warrior, rogue, mage, or non-combatant as well as any other special things they can do. Can they twist cherry stems with their tongue? you can tell us all about it here! - we have a space for shipper and plotting information to keep everything in one place while encouraging plotting talk through dms, messages, or the discord plotting channel. detail what their relationships could be like or list what you may want for them to go through for development.  - player information, easy enough, just stuff about YOU as the member! - art credit, if you use art for anything in the profile, please link the proper credit here - auto thread tracker will automatically list any thread you have posted in with information about the last post information. you dont have to do anything here for things to work as it should do everything for you automatically. NOTE: if your character name has an apostrophe in it, the autotracker will not work. so if your characters name is ni’ata, it would be beneficial to register as niata, ni-ata, or ni ata instead. or if you dont care to use it, do what you want! OOC ACCOUNT - same images apply to the ooc account - player information which is also seen in the character accounts - when you link subaccounts to your ooc account, they will be listed here - room for art credit if needed. 

APPLICATION EXPECTATIONS

We are all relatively functioning adults, so we trust you to know your characters, and play them respectfully (or not respectfully if you just want to torture the hell out of them) You do not need to discuss divergence with staff unless it's something that will have dramatic impact on the world, and if we have any issues, we’ll reach out, but at the end of the day, just do what you do, be respectful, and have fun. or else <3

AGE OF ASHES | INTRODUCTIONS - its so amazing to see the support we have gotten since starting this, and we’re excited to get to know all of you! AGE OF ASHES | THE PREMISE AND SITE INFO -   This is what you’ve been waiting for! This is a brief rundown of what AoA is going to be exploring. A full official plot writeup is available on the tumblr’s premise page, but we’ll go through it here too, along with a few other pieces of information! THE PLOT! - the site starts right after the events of the Kirkwall Chantry Explosion, in 9:37. These are the MAJOR plot points that we will have going on in the story. The Mage-Templar War which is split into three factions: the Rebel Mages, who want freedom above all else; The Templar Extremists, who seek the iradication of mages; and the Loyalists, templars and mages who still seek the protection and structure of the Chantry, although often disagree as to how things should be rebuild. Now keep in mind that everyone holds their own beliefs to varying degrees. How many people in these groups truly believe in their cause, how many are there for the sake of someone else? how many are in the ranks with sincerity? 

While the war tears apart the countryside, the Grey Wardens squabble about how to deal with the emerging Red Lyrium, it is blighted after all, and that’s there specialty, but is it worth dying over if its not a true Blight? The foremost blight experts try and deal with something bright, red, and deadly, but this is something no one has ever seen before. 

And in the background, Tevinter spreads spies all over Thedas, gathering money, supplies, and lots of bodies. for what purpose? no one really seems to know, perhaps not even the Tevinter spies.  Those are the BIG plots that are shaping the world, but what about everyone else? What about those people who perhaps just dont care about mages and templars and are just trying to get through Orlais without getting killed by an ambitious noble looking to steal their shit? That’s what you are here for!

The CANON DIVERGENCE means that.... you can do whatever you want (within some reason, stuff still has to make some sense) But the staff here at AoA encourages you to think outside the box. Do you have ideas for plots or events that never happen in the games but you really fuckin want them to? That’s the sort of stuff we wanna see. 

SITE INFO! - we dont want to take ourselves too seriously, this is all for fun and games, and so we wanted to create a member driven space for you to explore all the possibilities you want with all the wacky wonky fun filled times you want. Do you want a plot where you and your friends chase a naked Qunari through the streets of Orlais? We got you boo! We are so excited to be able to create this with you! Hope you see you all soon!
