Hanako is the kind of person who reveals himself in a twisted way. And so, at first, he'd be very polite and courteous (and only within the bounds of standard etiquette) toward Aoi, even sweet. Because he doesn't like her at all! And he doesn't care. He treats the people he likes more harshly — and more horribly. When Hanako starts to think that he doesn't want this kannagi to disappear on the far shore forever, because because (he reaches doesn't want it?? eww), then he'll turn on the yandere manipulator and treat Aoi horribly. He'll withhold words, lie, lock her out, and start to feel entitled to dictate Aoi's safety (because he's the boss, her only acquaintance, and she simply has no one else to turn to in the supernatural realm) and her behavior and freedom in general. Hanako will turn from a polite gentleman into a toxic husband, and this will anger Aoi greatly, but it will be too late.
