She was everything he had not known he needed, everything that gave him purpose. He remembered that one time Kojuro told him, as cheesy and old fashioned as it was, that there would come a time where he would understand why it did not work with anyone else before. He understood that now.

Masamune looked slightly annoyed as he watched Shigezane pour, quite messily, the sake into their cups. It did not seem as if his cousin minded it one bit, on the contrary, Shigezane appeared to be enjoying the situation very much. Neither Kojuro nor Masamune knew why. They were not sure if they wanted to know, either.

“Come on, stop being a sourpuss,” Shigezane smiled, bringing the cup to his lips and drinking its contents in one sip. “Drink, that will cheer you up. But don’t drink too much, I don’t want you falling asleep on me just yet.”

Kojuro shook his head with a wry smile, perhaps a bit amused at the apparent discontent of his lord. It was not as if he did not understand his reasons, but he thought this outing was necessary from time to time; he had been grateful at the time they did it when Natsu had been expecting, it had been a good distraction from the constant worry he carried within himself. He was sure Lord Masamune needed that, though he would not say those words out loud.

“I am not carrying you home tonight,” Kojuro warned, pulling the cup away from his lips.

Shigezane moved his hand to his chest, playing to be offended. Then, he let out a giggle. “You won’t have to. I promised Aoi I would not do anything stupid.”

“And she believed you?” That was Masamune, quietly, from his place.

This time Shigezane did not have to pretend.

“Thank you for the support, Masamune,” He remarked with sarcasm, wiping his mouth clean from the sake that had not fell into it when he brought the cup closer. He did not mind the mess, not even if Aoi would scold him for it; call him a masochist, but he enjoyed that side of her. “But, for your information, Aoi trusts me. You should try to do that too, sometimes.”

“I trust you,” Masamune shrugged.

“But you can be a handful,” Kojuro added, with a smile full of nostalgia. “I’m glad, though, that things have worked out with her. She’s a good woman.”

A smile spread through Shigezane’s face and both Kojuro and Masamune realized that they had never seen such an expression on him before. It was happiness, in a way he had never showed it before, but it was also some sort of satisfaction. Aoi, it seemed, had come to be the match he very much needed.

“She is, isn’t she?” Shigezane grinned, his cheeks turning pink slightly. “Man, she’s so good. She never does anything for herself. She’s a hard worker, but she is also fragile in ways people don’t notice.”

Kojuro smiled. “And you do?”

“Of course!” He puffed out his chest proudly.

Masamune nodded, a tiny smile on his lips as he took a sip of his own cup. “You’ve seen her with Pora. She’s extremely loyal, but only because she can see beyond appearances.”

“Take care of her,” Kojuro offered next. “She’s a good woman that has known hardship and yet it has not deterred her. She’s resilient, Shigezane. Be her strength, and she will be yours.”

The moment Shigezane turned red, both men burst in laughter at the sight. It was not every day you saw the Lord of Omori with such an embarrassed expression; that was a good sign, Masamune decided. Perhaps he could not speak much about Shigezane’s past lovers, but he knew his cousin well enough to notice the small changes Aoi had caused in him. Changes that he very much needed, even if he would not admit it out loud.

Shigezane, on his part, began coughing after a few seconds, trying to play it cool. He knew they were right—Aoi had been a surprise in his life, and a welcome one at that. She was everything he had not known he needed, everything that gave him purpose. He remembered that one time Kojuro told him, as cheesy and old fashioned as it was, that there would come a time where he would understand why it did not work with anyone else before.

He understood that now.

“What about Pora?” He cleared his throat, a cheeky smile spreading through his face when Masamune choked on the sake. Kojuro, ever the mother hen, was already rubbing his back in an attempt to help him. “I mean, if we’re going to speak about Aoi, it is only fair we speak about all of them.”

His cousin sent him an angry look, but took a few seconds to think about his words.

What could he say about Pora? Masamune did not believe as much in words as he did in actions, and he thought Pora had made very clear the impact she had made in his life. She had been his light and color, the one thing that gave him hope when everything around him seemed to fall into pieces. She was life itself, he thought. She was his life.

“Pora is kind,” Kojuro began, noticing the hesitation in Lord Masamune. Hesitation that only came from the fact that it was his wife they were speaking of—words that came from the intimate bond they shared. “Perhaps the kindest person I’ve met.”

Masamune nodded, a soft smile falling on his lips. “She is a storm. You cannot stop her, only watch in awe. She is stubborn, but only because she cares so much.”

“She’s also smart as hell,” Shigezane said, pouring more sake into his cup with an unsteady pulse. “Remember when those foreigners came in and she stepped right in? Damn, that was impressive. I don’t think I understood a word they said, though.”

For the first time that night, Masamune laughed. “She is impressive. Unexpected in a lot of ways, you could say. She laughs with freedom, with joy, with colors in her voice. Pora is herself, just that. She is who she wants to be, no matter what people might think of her.”

Kojuro grinned to himself at the sight of his Lord’s smile. It had been a relief, honestly—the whole situation with Pora had been quite difficult, and for a very long time he had feared he had brought more hurt for Lord Masamune in choosing her as his wife. Now, though, he understood the process and he was glad to see that he had made the right choice.

After a few seconds of silence, Kojuro finally let himself realize that now all eyes were on him. It was his turn now, wasn’t it? He took one last sip from his cup and accepted when Shigezane offered to refill it.

“What?” He purposely avoided the questioning looks, bringing the cup once more to his lips as he tasted the sweetness of the sake.

Shigezane elbowed him, which caused him to almost choke on the liquor. “You know what. We know that you can’t wait to get out of here to go to her, but cooperate, will you?”

“Natsu is…” He began, trying to find the right words to describe her. As it had happened before, they evaded him. “She is fragile in some ways and strong in others. She is kind and she is always putting others before herself. She takes care of others because she never had someone to take care of her, and she doesn’t want people to feel that way. She cares, deeply. She loves deeply, too.”

“She is very motherly, too,” Shigezane shrugged. “I mean, she is always taking care of us. Have you seen how pale she turns when I arrive and I dare say I have not eaten? No wonder why the baby is so chubby.”

Masamune laughed, recalling softly the scolding he had received at some point as well. “She is very gentle, too. I still remember the first time you brought her here and how Pora terrified her.”

“She still remembers that, too,” Kojuro laughed. “But they have been inseparable since then.”

Shigezane made a face. “They are probably complaining about us right now. That, or talking about babies.”

“For Aoi to speak about babies, she’d need to marry you first,” Kojuro poked, with a satisfied smile at the sight of Shigezane’s blush.

“One step at a time!” He complained, embarrassed. “Besides, her main focus right now is to take care of Pora. Now that she is pregnant, there is no way Aoi will leave her side. I’ll have to wait until the baby is born to even try to convince her to come to Omori with me.”

“Good luck with that,” Masamune said.

Shigezane drank what he had left of sake in his cup and nodded. Yeah, he would need luck to get her to marry him.

Out of all adult OCs I made, Aoi got most of my personalities, including my dark side ^^. However, I love a happy conclusion, so I depict her as a woman who found her own happiness although she ran away before. Yep, she ran away from her home. This based on my desire to escape from my home due to some IRL problems. I didn’t do that, however, because I just couldn’t leave my garden and cat lol. Personality-wise, she has most of my good and bad personality traits, making her the easiest OC to imagine. Well, she is my persona in Zexal. What do you expect? :P She has both my traits and my wish. For example, I wished for a German Shepherd to be my pet, but my house is too small to keep a large breed dog (not mentoning my mom doesn’t want me to have a dog lol). So I gave Aoi a German Shepherd as a pet.

She is the supporter of the family, since her husband is busy in Kaito’s lab. However, she often goes to the lab to bring him lunch. Other than that, she is busy with her 4 children and tending her garden. The plants she raised are absed from my mini garden: filled with carnivorous plants like pitcher plants, sundew, and Venus Flytraps. I started raising them after I wrote a blog entry about Traptrix, and found that Indonesia has the largest diversity of Nepenthes species. Thus, I started raising a pot of Nepenthes, and after about 2 years... my mini garden grew so much (lol). This is also the reason I made Aoi has a Traptrix deck: I never forget that Traptrix is the reason I started raising carnivorous plants, hence why I love the archetype very much.

She cares deeply to her family and her husband’s family, as much as she cares to her sisters (except her older sister, because their relationship isn’t good). She tends to spoil her children to the point that her husband needs to warn her to not spoil them too much. Even so, Aoi will warn her children when they do wrong, as well as telling them what’s right, provides them with suggestions, and give them space to grow and learn. It’s her idea to let Sei and Selena grow into two different persons, since they are different, no matter how similar they look. Thus, she lets the twins to pick their own outfit and doing their hobbies.

Originally a gardener, and the owner of her garden of exotic plants in Heartland. Thus, naturally, she owned a Traptrix deck, with “Kazura-chan” as her main partner, and “Fresia-chan” as her ace. Her cheerful appearance hides her dark past. She was abused by her mother, so after graduated from high school, she escaped to Heartland, and started to learn about gardening, especially about carnivorous plants, which picked her interest since she was little. She also learned how to design things, and soon after, she was known as a designer and the owner of an exotic garden in Heartland.

One day, she met Chris and dueled against him soon after that. She lost miserably due to lack of her experience in actual dueling. She asked him to teach her how to duel. As the training goes, she fell in love with him. Thinking that she isn’t capable of such thing, she became cold, until he went to her garden and propose to her.

Currently, she is a housewife. She is still active as a gardener, but not really active as a Duelist because she has to take care of her children. She is the one who teaches her children how to Duel, when her husband isn’t around.
