"But, dad—" Lee Seunghee, your fifteen years old daughter whined. She looked like Gray as if God was copy Gray and paste on Seunghee, her pointy nose snorted as she looked at Gray’s in disappointment.
"No." Gray shook his head and said firmly. His eyes darted on his daughter, if his eyes could have laser, Seunghee would probably already burn from his intense glare.
Seunghee was Gray’s favorite and she knew how to melt her dad’s heart, she gave Gray her adorable puppy eyes, “Daddy, please..”
But Gray didn’t fall for it, not this time. He didn’t want to let his daughter slip away, so he didn’t say anything and just shook his head, continued to dig his food.
"What's wrong, dad?" Seunghyun asked when he entered the kitchen, finding his dad and his little sister having a heat discussion. Seunghyun, your oldest son which look like nothing but Gray, you didn’t know why but Gray’s genes ran out really well in your family, making you sometimes upset because no one of them inherited your genes.
"This little girl asked me to let her go on date." Gray replied curtly, very displeased.
"Heol~ with whom?" Seunghyun stopped and stood behind Gray's chair, voluntary glared at Seunghee. Both of them were really protective to Seunghee.
"Ask her."
"Who's that unlucky guy, Heeseung?" Seunghyun loved to play with Seunghee's name to make her piss.
"None of your business." She rolled her eyes.
"Lee Seunghee, watch your language when you talk with your brother."
"Da—"
"It's Jungki." Gray informed his son then Seunghyun coughed hard as if he lost oxygen from his lungs. Jungki was his bestfriend and son of Jung Kiseok or world acknowledged him as Simon Dominic. And not to mention Jungki was one of player, a heart player. Well, Seunghyun was one of them too but Jungki playing with his sister’s heart wasn’t a pleasant news for him.
"You gotta be kidding me, Heeseung." Seunghyun rolled his eyes and took the seat beside Gray’s.
"I caught them at the coffee shop two days ago." Gray couldn't hide his annoyed tone.
"What."
"Laugh and lovey dovey."
"Shit."
"Language, Lee Seunghyun."
"Sorry, dad." Seunghyun quickly apologized, rule was a rule, whether he pissed or not, no one could swear and say inappropriate things in this home. That was one of rule that you and Gray made for the peacefulness.
"Geez, why would you date him?" Now it's Seunghyun who looked pissed.
"Yeah, why?" Gray supported his son.
"He's freaking five years older than you!" Seunghyun added.
"Yeah, that little bastard must be pedophile." Gray added, still in jealousy tone. He treated Jungki as his son, but the idea of letting his precious daughter dating Jungki was a big no. He’s player, just like her dad when he was young.
"You're right dad- wait no. Mom is eight years younger than you." Seunghyun reasoned.
"That's true, Jungki oppa is just five years older. The pedophile one it must be you, daddy." Seunghee attacked back.
This wasn’t predicted by Gray, now he was cornered and his pride wasn't ready for this, "What? No. Me and your mom was different, I met her when I was 28. We both were in legal age to date."
"But still.." Seunghyun wasn't sure who's side he was but his curiosity didn't let him back off.
"Stop arguing with me or both of you will be grounded for God knows when." Gray threatened. That's his final card, grounded means they have to stay at home with limited money allowance. Basically living as home prisoners.
"Geez.." Seunghyun and Seunghee whined at the same time.
"Take it down and stay here, I need to discus with your mom. We need to know what I'm going to do with you, Seunghee." Gray said then took out his phone from his pocket, searching for your number. He might sound scary and discipline but your kids only well behaved under your spell, that's why Gray needed you and the kids worried you might give them hard time more than Gray suggested.
"Daddd!" Seunghee shook her head, pleading.
"I'll help you to discuss with mom." Seunghyun added, smiling in victory.
"No, young man. You hurt me, you need to get your punishment too."
“y/n!” someone tapped your shoulder when you tried to reach your favorite cereal on the rack, you turned to the voice owner.
You were doing your monthly routine, shopping for grocery and your daily needs. Since you wanted to save your time, you went to one of infamous supermarket near your office than your favorite place. You thought it would be nice if you could save your time you can get more nap time when you got home but God wanted to show you something.
“My dear, how have you been?” she smiled.
You stood in silent and didn’t know how to react because you still couldn’t believe with what you see and the person in front of you was the last person whom you want to meet, at least for the past six months.
“Are you alone?” she asked you again with her big smile.
“Mom—” your voice cracked and stuck on your throat. Was it right to you to keep call her as ‘mom’? You didn’t know what should you say and what kind of suitable nick name to call her because everything has changed without you and her even knowing.
“Dear, you look so skinny.” She rubbed your arm gently, “We miss you, you never visit us for months. Are you busy? You should take care of yourself more, hm?” she said in mom’s worried tone which was hurt your heart.
You missed her.
You wanted to visit her.
You wanted to help her baking and go shopping with her as you used to. But you couldn’t because you no longer have right to do it. You wanted to hug her but you just stared at her and gave her small smile.
“I’m good, mom..” the word ‘mom’ gave you stab on your heart whenever you said it but you ignored it, you will call her mom as much as you wanted now. “I miss you too, I’m sorry I couldn’t visit you.. my job won’t let me free.” You weren’t fully lying to her, it’s true that you had to go back and forth from Japan to Korea sometimes due your job as animator. Your job was your second reasons to avoid her, the ultimate reason is because you already broke up with her son, Lee Sunghwa which known as Gray, producer and multi talented artist. Your ex-boyfriend who you couldn’t forget even just a second until now because you’re fucking love him, so damn much.
“Ah, is that so? Sunghwa rarely visit me, if he did though it just less than ten minutes. I was worried but now it turns out that both of you were busy, so it makes sense..”
Mom, we’re busy but not that really busy.
We broke up.
Because of my stupid decision and your son hate me so much.
At that time you really wanted to tell her but you couldn’t, because you promised to keep it as secret, Gray made you promise that. He knew that his mom really like you and expect you to be Gray’s wife soon, and your separation with him would hurt his mom too. That’s why you agreed to keep it as secret and quietly broke up with him.
The idea of breaking up was yours. Exactly, that was your worst and stupid ever idea. And now you regret it and suffering on your own, you accepted this terrible guilty feeling which have been haunting you as enough to punish you, longing and loving your ex-boyfriend who might already move on because your own stupidity.
Your mind had flashback to how both of you were so in love with each other.
“Dear, are you okay?” Mrs. Lee’s voice brought you to the reality.
You quickly nodded, “yes, mom. I’m okay. Are you here with dad?” you scanned around try to find anyone who looks familiar but there none.
“No, I’m by myself. Just drop by to buy some snacks.” She smiled while showing her trolley which was full by various snack.
You chuckled in amuse, “That’s too much for you and dad.”
“I will save it for Sunghwa then..” she smiled. Oh, her smile reminded you about his son. That guy never let you to forget him, eish!
“Come in!” Mrs. Lee gestured you to follow her enter the living room.
Without you could resist and said no, you already arrived at Gray’s parents’ house. It happened naturally, since his mom didn’t have any company so you politely offered her a ride to go home and she asked you to visit her at least to say thank you for gave her ride. You had no intention to do anything further, it’s just because you like her and respect her, she acts like your mom and you wanted to show that you still like her even though you and Gray already broke up.
‘I’ll just have tea and leave after.’ You thought to yourself, beside Gray was rarely visit her mom so no chance that he would appear like a magic there.
‘Everything gonna be okay.’ You convinced yourself and followed her enter the living room. You felt a reunion when you entered the house, the vibe, the smell of this house, the softness of fur carpet, the white couch where you used to sit there with Gray while eating his mom’s cake. That sweet memory left a bitter and deep wound on your heart.
“Enjoy yourself, I’ll make tea for you.” Mrs. Lee said to you before she went to the kitchen, you couldn’t bear being alone in the living room while Gray and your memory haunted you, so you walked to the kitchen, joined her.
“Where’s Dad?” you peeked behind her, checking how she make tea.
She poured honey to the tea and stir it with spoon, “He probably went to pick his new speaker, you know he’s so impatient to wait the delivery man to send it here.”
You knew it, your ex-soon to be your dad in law is impatient. Unlike his wife and Gray who has tons of patience, the one and only heritage to Gray is his handsomeness.
“He’s unbeatable.” Your comment made both you and Gray’s mom laughed.
“Indeed.” She turned around and handed you a cup of warm tea, you took it and walked with her to sit on the dinner chair.
“It’s nice having you here, my sons are too busy recently and I only could talk with my husband.” She smiled but you could read from her face that she’s lonely and missed his sons. Gray’s older brothers are already married, they probably busy with their family and Gray always busy working and working.
“Next time let’s go shopping and lunch when I’m not busy, mom.” You didn’t even know why you promise her something that you couldn’t guarantee if it’s gonna be reality or not, you just wanted her to feel better.
“Really? Sure! Call me whenever you’re free.” Her expression turned into bright in a second.
“Yes, I will.” If we could meet again. You finished your sentence secretly on your head.
You can’t meet her if Gray found out that you meet his mom. You were the one who broke up with him. It was too stressful for you back then, your job that made you lost your insanity while Gray always busy working and his America tour preparation made it worst for both of you to meet and understand each other. You couldn’t share your worry and your problem with him because whenever both of you meet you would fight and ended up upset at each other. Both of you were physically tired and it affected on your relationship then the idea of breaking up hit you. Gray was in emotional state too so he didn’t think twice when you asked him to break up, he said yes right away. As simple as that, you officially broke up with him.
Just then you heard someone unlocked and opened the door.
“It must be dad.” Gray’s mom informed you.
“Mom, where should I put this?” Gray’s voice audible from the living room and your heart beat couldn’t take it.
Oh no. Please don’t come to the kitchen.
You heard foot step walking closer to the kitchen room.
“Mom, where I suppose to put this speak—” his voice hung in the air when his eyes found you.
“Oh, Sunghwa comes!” his mom greeted Gray in super excited tone.
You remained silent but Gray’s eyes still on you and it made you want to run away and disappear from this world. Damn, more than six months you hadn’t seen him and now he’s in front of you and he looked fine. No, not fine but fuckin handsome. Oh, universe must be hate you so much! How could he looks more handsome while he wasn’t yours anymore?
Now I look like a desperate ex-girlfriend who sticks to his mom shamelessly.
He looked at you as if he didn’t want you to be here and you cried inside.
“Where’s your dad?” his mom casually asked, she didn’t notice the awkward atmosphere between you and her beloved son.
He looked at you once again before he turned his head to look at his mom, “Dad going to the store, he left his device there and asked me to bring his new speaker here.”
You wished you were invisible for Gray.
“Hi..” he greeted you then walked to the refrigerator to take out water bottle.
“Are you sure you’re here not because your girlfriend here too?” his mom teased him then winked at you, Gray almost choked and spilled his water.
You need to escape from this situation as soon as possible. “Mom, I need to go..” You stood and bring your cup of tea to the wash bin, while thinking what kind of excuse you should say to save you from Gray.
“Where?” he asked you.
Instead of his mom, Gray was the one who asked you.
To another country, to avoid you because I don’t know what I’m going to do with you. You answered him secretly.
“Going back home, I still have something to do.” This time you avoided to meet his eyes and looked at his mom as you prayed she would let you go home.
“You still have a lot of works?” his mom looked worried, “Hey, you should take care of your girlfriend!” she playfully hit Gray’s shoulder.
Gray yelped in pain. “Mom—”
“Then let’s go home dear, thank you for helping me.” She gave you a warm hug and you hugged her as you said, “It’s fine, mom..”
She loosen her hug and smiled to you, “Take care.”
“Then I will go too.” Gray announced.
You and his mom turned to him, “You too? Where? You just arrived five minutes ago.” his mom furiously asked.
“Dad took my car.” He simply answered his mom and looked at you, “Can you give me ride? I need to back to AOMG building.”
Wait. What?
“Yeah, sure.” You nodded but deep down in your heart you weren’t sure you agreed to give him ride because you wanted to or you were spelled by his magic.
“Where’s the key?” he stick out his hand, asking for your car key. You knew he never let you drive when you’re with him, it seemed like you were under his magic spell, you took out your car key from your pocket and gave to him.
“Mom, we’re going.” He walked closer to his mom and hugged her.
“Okay, you guys should visit me often.”
“We will, don’t worry.” He replied and walked out. Leaving you in dazed.
“How have you been?” he casually asked you when both of you got in the car. He fasten his seat belt and ready to drive.
“I’m good.” You lied. You weren’t good, never. And it hurts you.
“I see.” He said
“And how about oppa?” you still call him oppa since you are five years younger than him.
Your car smoothly speed up in Gray’s control.
“I’m not good, obviously because of you.” He didn’t even look at you and focused driving. You weren’t sure to say something but you need to explain to him why you were in his house and meet his mom.
“I met your mom unintentionally, we just bumped to each other and I offered to give her ride—”
“That’s not what I mean. You know exactly why I’m not good.” He cut off your word.
“….” You bit your lips, didn’t know what to say. He was referring to how he hurt by your act back then.
“I hope your works were only your excuse to escape from my house.” He added. He was right, works were just your excuse to run away from him and his mom.
“I—”
“We need to talk.” His voice sounded like a command instead of asking. When he speeded up passing by AOMG’s building you realized that he also lied and used AOMG as his excuse.
ps: guys I think it’s going to be long story, so tell me should I continue this story or just leave it like this? Thank you~
