“Okay, what should I do first?”

I’m Yours
He was buying dog food. Really, that’s all Kai had set out to do. He had his hair in a messed up bun, and an old Ilvermorny sweatshirt with a pair of basketball shorts he only wore when he was feeling especially lazy. He hadn’t even bothered shaving that morning; it was his day off so why should he? Of course, as soon as Kai saw Anya he wished he had shaved, and maybe put on something decent. He’d been thinking about her almost constantly since Hawaii, and just the sight of her sent his heart on a marathon. She hadn’t spotted him yet, which gave him time to think. He longed to hold her again, to be that close and to just...be with her. That would be enough. But he knew he was not one for words, and if he tried to say what he wanted to he wouldn’t be able to say it right. He had to act. Kai had been thinking about this since they first touched ground in Hawaii, and it had taken ever ounce of self control not to just grab her and kiss her while they were there. But now they were home...
His cart was left behind as he approached her, his feet taking control. “Anya...” Kai said once he was close enough. He felt his nerves grow more when she turned around to look at him, but he was already reaching out to grab hold of her waist and he couldn’t stop now. Before she could get more than a word out, he had his other hand on the side of her neck and he was leaning down finally, finally, he kissed her. Sure, he would have to move if he was wrong and she didn’t have feelings for him. But it would be worth it, because he would have had at least one kiss with her. And boy, was it a kiss to remember. He would have liked for it to be less desperate, but that’s how he felt. He needed her, and this kiss could ruin their friendship. Kai broke off the kiss, too afraid to open his eyes or say anything. He just held onto her, praying that she wouldn’t pull away.

It looked like the right place. Luca only knew a few people in the states, and he figured he couldn’t start his new job without popping by to see Anya. He opened the door and stepped inside. “Love what you’ve done with the place.”

Kai had a bag packed and an organized schedule for the dogs’ day. He usually wouldn’t leave them home alone, but magical transport with five dogs, Kai learned, was very difficult. He locked the front door, and after making sure that the spare was where he said it would be, walked next door to Anya’s house. He felt his heart beat accelerate the closer he got, the anxiety in his gut building with every step. He’d never taken anyone to the island, and taking Anya there...it was a big deal. At least to him. He just told her that he wanted to get her more tea, and since he was going that way she should join him. Anya didn’t have to know how much this meant to him. She probably wouldn’t even care that much. Hell, maybe she’d find someone in Hawaii. That would be...fine.
Kai knocked twice on her door, taking a step back as he waited for her. He could hear her dogs barking from inside, hoping that his five were still asleep and wouldn’t start their own chorus. And then she opened the door, and the smell of rose oozed into the surrounding air and he felt calm. “Good afternoon.”

"Anya, I know it’s late but I really need your help.” Kai shouted at the closed door of his neighbor’s house. He banged on it with one hand, the other hand cradling Holoholona. “Please open the door!”

“Someone left this little guy at the hospital. So I thought I’d bring him here to you.” As she spoke, Arwen showed the injured puppy she was holding to Anya.

“Anya? You doing alright?” Marj knocked on the door to her best friend’s house. “You haven’t been answering my calls, please just open the door.”
